Was just sitting watching tele at home in charlton park lane when I heard the sound of a loud aircraft, this is not uncommon as alot of helicopters fly over low landing at the barracks, but this sounded different. When I opened the front door as It got louder it was a small passenger plane accompanied by two fighter jets flying low.

Just wondered if anybody new the reason for this.

Heard them fly over my house on Plumstead Common, just caught sight of them as they vanished over towards Woolwich Common. No idea what they were for.
  • I think they are practicing for our 'Champions' victory parade against Hartlepool ..... either that or the Olympics.

Well done smiffyboy you got a quicker response from BDL on this thread than you do on his own 'Questions' thread (smiley face).

Didn't anyone notice the plane that came over about a minute before, I noticed it out the window flying low over Dartford bridge, could have been an awax? Not sure if I spelt that right it's the one with the flat radar dish on top about half way round down the body, this was then followed by the 3 planes described above.

I heard the first plane but took no notice until I heard the second lot which I investigated.
