Preston North End v The Champions - 28 April 2012 - Preview, News, Views and Line Ups

Hmm - how do you fire up a team when it's already promoted as champions? Hopefully, the suggestion above that the players will be playing to cement their place in the team next season will come into the equation.
Sounds like Preston are in disarray so anything could happen.
I'd like to see some of our squad players given a run out, but I think Powelly sees things differently and will stick with putting out his strongest 11. After the season we've had it's obvious he knows best.
5-2 to the champions.0 -
Cafc 7-2 pnefc
No pressure.0 -
1-1
Westley has plotted our defeat before, PNE don't score or concede many, I expect some regulars will be rested so we won't be at our best, then again s#d the usual pessimism we'll win 4-0 with Haynes, Solly, Cook and Waggy scoring.0 -
They are there to be smashed, the supporters at Deepdale hate Westley, the players hate him, and the club is a shambles.0
-
Mid table Preston against already Champions us. Who has the most on this game? Us for the ton or Preston for, what?
I'm going for another clean sheet for us and a couple going in at the other end. 0-2.0 -
2-0 to the Champions0
-
1-1 and less than 50 people in double denim.0
-
0-3 to the champions after four of the PNE players tell Chris Powell on Twitter how they are going to line up and what tactics they are going to use.0
-
Another boring 0-1 away win, Cort to score from a corner 73rd minute, Preston all over us for most of the game.0
-
0-4

A nice relaxed performance from the reserves. A walk in the park and a comfortable 4-0 away win. Goals from Taylor, Hollands, Green and Haynes0
-
I have got a feeling that Preston will beat us 2-0.We will win the final game against the Pool 2-0.0
-
Would like to see a few changes give a few of the squad a go.

Nicholas - that team looks about right if SCP wants to reward some of the squad players with a game as suggested yesterday in his interview - but I wouldn't expect any loanees to appear unless he's hopeful of securing them for next season.0
-
We will field a strong side and won't concede from open play. If we get an early goal it'll open the floodgates, 0-4, otherwise it is my usual charlton, 0-1. COYR

Yet another opportunity for my old CAFC to shine through. Hype, expectation, larger than usual away crowd, it's got to be a let down has it not? But hold on, NOT this team of Addicks. I predict a 0-1 win and continued amazement in the Soapy household.0
-
A full strength and relaxed, not to say complacent, Charlton versus a team with nothing to play for other than the chance to make mugs of the Champs.

I think this is dead right, maybe with the exception SCP may decide to play Euell! Which I would personally love to see. Also, MAYBE he might play Alonso, who I am really not too sure about. We will see.

Will be interesting to see the side he picks, but ultimately i don't care. Tomorrow is all about having a good day out.0

My team would be
-------------Hamer--------------
Solly-----Taylor----Morrison----Evina
Wagstaff--Hughes---Pritchard---Harriott
---------Hayes----BWP--------------0 -
SCP better not go to Barca.0

It's great not to have to worry about the result.
The players selected will hopefully play with a bit of freedom, with the pressure off, thus enabling their ability to shine through enough for us to avoid defeat at the very least.0 -

Wiggins and Morro are ever present, I imagine they'd both want to play the last 2 games, which complicated squad rotation slightly, as Taylor and Evina deserve a game.
