Hmm - how do you fire up a team when it's already promoted as champions? Hopefully, the suggestion above that the players will be playing to cement their place in the team next season will come into the equation.

Sounds like Preston are in disarray so anything could happen.

I'd like to see some of our squad players given a run out, but I think Powelly sees things differently and will stick with putting out his strongest 11. After the season we've had it's obvious he knows best.

Nicholas - that team looks about right if SCP wants to reward some of the squad players with a game as suggested yesterday in his interview - but I wouldn't expect any loanees to appear unless he's hopeful of securing them for next season.

The manager revealed some of his fringe players could expect to feature at the weekend, although he ruled it out for the Hartlepool game next Saturday.

Powell said: “Really you’ve got to look at it that the players have done ever so well this year and a few of them have dipped in and played a few games and come out and had to be patient, maybe not played too much as well.

“So I will definitely take that into account with regards to the team because I know against Hartlepool really the players who have played the majority of the year and have played such pivotal parts in our season, I feel it is only right they play and be involved in that game.

“I will look at one or two players who can come into the equation against Preston.”

It's great not to have to worry about the result.

The players selected will hopefully play with a bit of freedom, with the pressure off, thus enabling their ability to shine through enough for us to avoid defeat at the very least.

Wiggins and Morro are ever present, I imagine they'd both want to play the last 2 games, which complicated squad rotation slightly, as Taylor and Evina deserve a game.
