    Dear all,

Had a busy day so just logging on, just a quick line to say a big thank you to all of you who bid on the shirt and of course to CoulsdonSouthCAFC for his very generous winning bid.

Also thanks to Curb_it & Henry for getting this auction going and of course doubling up the amount to £620.00 to be paid to The Upbeats.

The part I played in this was very small so thank you all for making it happen.

So further to Morrison's shirt, Weegie Addick kindly offered her Taylor shirt for auction for the Upbeats as well.

It was decided that rather than run a second auction to offer it to the second highest bidder if they so wished. That person was JimMac and he has kindly bought Taylor's shirt for £300. Ben is doubling that one as well. I think it was agreed that Coulsdon would pay £300 also.

So that rounds it up to £1200 to the Upbeats plus the £40 I have and the £200 we paid earlier on.

    Nice one JimMac and Coulsdon.

When I saw the level of bids Morro's shirt was attracting, I felt I had to put Taylor's up as well, so that we could raise even more for the Upbeats.

Delighted that JimMac will become the proud owner - and will do my best to get it signed by the rest of the team and manager for him before handing it over.
  • Well done Weegie.
  • Great stuff

Nice one Weegie, £1,200 certainly has a nice ring to it for the upbeats.

Big thanks to Chris Parkes who allowed Coulsdon South to pick up his Morrison shirt from Sparrows Lane this morning.

MM and Chris Powell both took the time to chat which was very generous of them as they were "at work". Chris Parkes also gave us a quick tour.

Powell is slightly worried that CS Addick might be a stalker but I'll let him explain that : - )

Photos from CS later I hope but here's one I took

thank you very much Henry for organising yesterday morning which was a great experience and for the club allowing us to visit the training ground. As Henry mentioned both CP/MM had plenty of time for us and we had a good look behind the scenes & I can also confirm a sighting of Alonso!

The stalker - on the eve of the visit I bumped into CP coming out of our local waitrose and I put some sort of sentence together about coming to the training in morning, to which CP looked at me as if I was nuts! The following morning Henry & I walked in to the training ground canteen just as CP was getting his breakfast he looks up to see the surrey stalking and creases up with laughter as it now come's clear that I was actually talking sense the night before. AFKA - I can't help it if for 20 years I thought your real name was smudge! lol

pictures of the visit plus the famous shirt and a signed ball from preston away (as caught by Rob Flower) signed by CP and he now knows who stole the ball!

Right I have got all the cheques together and I'm posting to the Trust today. In total there are 1820! I have already sent across 200 from the rest of the shirt sponsorship money.

Cheques from OohAhh for the flat (overly generous), from Coulsdon and JimMac for Morrison/Taylors Shirts, 600 from the money raised via Ben, from Bristol for the boots and POPIcon for the Pants (ahem) and DMehmet for the programme and another 10 from someone else?

Well done all, specially those of you with extra huge pockets. This money is being sent to the Trust but specifically to fund the Upbeats which is a fabulous cause.

Can we put together an over 50s side to play the upbeats pre season? (I'm sure they'll be gentle with us), I'd pay to play and I'm sure there would be a few others will to raise a few more quid and it would be nice to meet these guys. I have no contacts but would be willing to muck in and help organise it.

Bumping an old Upbeats thread. There's too many and dont know which one to put it on.

But i find this last line on the Trust website a bit disappointing. Is there Christmas party in doubt?

‘Also during this period they have pledged support to ensure that The Charlton Upbeats Christmas party goes ahead this year. This is just scratching the surface of the full support that RCS have given over the last 2 years and we can’t thank them enough.’
