Anyone know if he was simply dropped from the last England squad or was his ankle deemed not fully fit?

    Dropped/not included. I think he was only in the squad for the first England international (a friendly) because of an injury that kept Neville out of the squad - he was called up for cover, but then dropped out because of his ankle injury.
