Apologise if already a similar thread.

But could kermorgants goal be classed as a great goal via the website saying it etc. I love the man and wish he did mean it to hit the back of the net, but was just trying to keep it in play for someone else to get on the end of it.

If Yann says so himself that he ment it, it would have been possibly the best goal I've seen at the valley.

It is definitely a great goal, all that would change is that it would be a world class goal instead of a great one haha.

SCP said on Goals on Sunday, that it was deliberate and that is good enough for me :)

As far as I am concerned it was a great goal whether he meant it or not and one that I will savour for a long time

If he had scored it in the Prem it would be replayed week in week out. Brilliant goal

Dam sounds like I missed sir chris on goals on Sunday.

Nice feeling knowing I already pre ordered the end of season DVD to just watch the goal over and over!

You can see with the way he uses his left leg to get leverage that it's deliberate....

I'm sorry. I just can't see it being a deliberate attempt on goal. It was an effort to put the ball back into the danger zone. Great technique to even do that but a goal attempt...not for me.

I don't care. A goal is a goal. I'm sure Cisse was aiming top left not top right for Newcastle but that was still amazing. Let Yann have his moment.

Fair enough mate... I can see with the micro scissors of his left leg that he stretched, reached it, and left the keeper with no chance.... Genius

Agree with SHG, he was putting it back in the box.
  • Did brilliantly to reach it but never a shot for me. Instinctively tried to get it back across into the box when anything could happen, including it going in, but don't think he was 'aiming' for there.

    I'd claim it though...

There was something too, about his immediate reaction when it went in: holding his head in what looked like disbelief. Up there with the best though!

If any player of that pitch was capable of it, then it's Kermogant. If he genuinely meant it, it is the best goal I have ever seen. My gut feeling is that he couldn't possibly mean it, but then you think, it's Kermogant...maybe!

Personally I think he was just trying to trap the ball and bring it down and made an utter balls-up of it.... Nah, just kidding.

I think he was trying to cut it back pretty much where he hit it but probably expected the best that would happen is someone else would get onto it. He's obviously trying to lift it over the keeper and into that general area which is good enough for me to say he meant it...

Whether he meant it or not, that is one of the best goals I've seen at the Valley in many a long year. L1 goal of the season?

It is the sort of goal though that if it was meant is fantastic but if not- it loses a lot of it's wow factor. I think Kermogant is saying he meant it and that is good enough for me. If Messi had scored it, we would be seeing it every 5 minutes! Our first and last goals of the season have been very fitting.

Honestly if he ment that it is one of charltons best ever goals. It looks great from the videos angle.

His reaction after it went in tells me he didn't mean it.

Either way, I'm not bothered. I LOVE THIS MAN!!!!!!!!!

I don't think he meant it but the way he has played he deserved it to drop in. Mentioning Cisse's is a bit different because at least he was shooting at goal, I'm sure most were saying N'Guessan's debut goal was not intentional so what is the difference here? Popularity?

Got to be one of those, lob it towards the back post and see what happens.
Lots of great goals wernt meant

Seen better goals at the Valley than that anyway
    RVP

Stephens/Waggys are just as good from this year
