I honestly don't know where we need to strengthen, but we will have 5 or 6 slots after players have departed and we need to get the best players we can into those. Then it will be down to competition and the squad will be stronger overall.

For me, what we do about a goalie will show our ambition. If we keep Sullivan or sign someone else as cover, then we are looking to consolidate in the Champs. If we are aiming to do a Norwich/ Southampton, then we will sign an experienced number one - someone like Craig Gordon. Hamer has improved enormously, and can still improve further, but to compete at the top of the Champs next season we would need a goalie who can boss the defence/ give Hamer real competition.
Gordon sadly hasn't been fit properly for years.

Craig Gordon is a great keeper, but was on huge money at Sunderland, injury ridden, and will probably end up at a Premier League club on the bench. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2127947/Celtic-eye-Sunderland-misfit-Craig-Gordon.html

Richard Lee would be my choice as a back up keeper to Hamer

......and Pritchard (who i think will continue to grow next year).
    Don't think he'll ever reach 6 foot.

Ex Palace doesn't matter. Powell and Wiggins are ex Palace.
Yeah I wouldn't hold that against him. Don't really have a problem with ex-Palace or Millwall players. Bit galling to see Josh Wright at Millwall given the way he left us and the fact he came through the academy.

SCP has already got his list and has spoken to the board. Expect to see the same influx of players, as last season before the summer is out.

    What, 18??

I hope not...we need to keep the team spirit.

Some good premier defenders are out of contract: CB .. Caulker (Swansea) and Knight (Bolton) (one young , one oldish) .. Midfielders from the Championship .. Koren (Hull), Dicker and Harley (Brighton), I like Drury and Martin both Ipswich ... Strikers .. Jackson (ex Gills, Norwich), Austin (Burnley) .. A few of these will demand high wages .. but .. 'If you pay peanuts .... '. I suspect that Chris Powell and co will sign a player or two that few armchair scouts have considered and who will turn out to be very successful.
Just to point out, Caulker is on loan at Swansea from Spurs having signed a 5 year deal at the start of this season and we're all expecting him to be in our 25 man PL squad next season. Would be very surprised indeed if he goes out on loan again next season.

I mistakenly thought that he'd signed for Swansea. This surprised me as he is a VERY good player. He's flagged on one site as being out of contract. Presumably this refers to his Swansea loan deal. Pity. I'd LOVE to see him in a Charlton team.

He's touted as the long-term replacement for Ledley King, thats how highly he is rated. He's been excellent for the Swans. He way he has been playing this season, wouldnt have any problems with him in the starting XI. He's got the lot and could become an absolute monster like Kaboul.

Someone like Craig Gordon.... gotta love the loons. Let's spend some golden nuggets, and go bankrupt again. 25+ grand a week for a reserve??? WTF.

We had a chance to re-sign Wright before he went to millwall. Remember hearing him being interviewed on charlton live, saying he was looking for a club and would be interested in coming back here. Powelly obviously didn't see him as part of the jigsaw.

    Attitude, Attitude, Attitude.

Without out the Chris Powell attitude, no player will sign for Charlton.
