The whole of 2011/2012 season. Everytime the Welsh name a squad, he's on standby

i dont rate taylor at all. these prem games have definitely boosted his footballing resume but every time i hv watched him this epl season, he has looked 2nd best to his opponent.

    wiggins deserves a go!

I'd love to know what the players themselves think about all this `on standby' stuff...although I could hazard a guess...

I mean lets face it, its like they are saying `we don't think you're good enough to warrant a squad place but can you be ready incase we get a bit desperate'...and all this being done in public can't help.

Take Chris Solly and this Olympic's squad....he's in, he's in, he's in, ohhh no he's out. It's like footballs equivalent of the prick tease ;P

I like Wiggins but on form and ability Taylor has to be first choice. That said, a lucky/unlukcky injury (depending on perspective) and Rhoys will have a great chance.

Wiggins reckoned they wouldn't pick League One players for the squad, so he should have more luck next season!

And who else, they must have two left backs in the squad?

I think Sam Ricketts covers RB and LB.

Let's hope Wales drop a Rickett ..... I'd love to see Wiggsy play international football.

Imagine your Boss calls you into his office and says "Alright Neil, have a seat...just letting you know you nearly got a pay rise...but better luck next year eh"....and then proceeds to post this info on the office notice board.

I know what you mean, but I think it's more like missing out on a promotion, but being told they did like you, but that someone else was more qualified.

Basically you're disappointed but at least you know you're close for next time.

Or is it like missing a train by a few seconds? Youre hot and out of breath, and you watch it going away down the track...but at least you are in the station and possibly even the right platform, so you can get a coffee and read your book while you wait for the next train to come in half an hour?

Think its more like a kid having to wait outside a newsagents because they only allow two children at a time (because of nicking stuff etc). Two kids are already in the shop so little rhoys has to wait for one of them to leave.

Wales v Mexico in New York ? Why don't countries just play on their own soil anymore ! Well done to Wiggins, I have no doubt he'll get capped next season and if he misses out this time them it's no bad thing for us in terms of ore season preperation.
  • Was supposed to be promoted to the full squad but had to pull out through injury.

I think Celtic's Adam Matthews can also play left back, and is ahead of Wiggins in the pecking order.
