    Great work though by the club going back through the timeline.
    Very impressive, it goes right back to 1905!

    Weeellll, I thought, shit, OK. I've been avoiding facebook like the curmudgeonly old Luddite that I am, but if it can give me an extra channel of communication from the Valley, which is so far away, so be it. And I began the process of signing up. When it reached step fifteen which basically said, 'And these geeky corporate cyber-spivs require your permission to distract you from your valuable work and pick your pocket', I said very loudly, which frightened the cat, 'NO!' and shut off the process. I'll leave it to you young 40-somethings to social network with Sir Chris, etc. I'll network with the cat and try to get her down from the top of he wardrobe.

    Have you read the papers lately?? 'XXXXX tweeted.....' and they're all text speak. No one will be able to write in English in 10 years time.

    Just hope it doesn't become juvenile with comments etc. - I think they'll keep a pretty tight grip on things like that though.

    I can only see the official comments on the wall. No doubt our (unofficial....) rivals will post hilarious comments on pictures etc.

    It's great news, one step closer to the ultimate goal of eradicating the English language within ten years.

    But the thing that pissed me off was why make a big song & dance announcement over something so trivial?

    I think to be fair the big song and dance was just on this thread, nowhere else. People suggesting that we were going to sign Drogba, Schlupp or Van Nistelrooooy or that CP was going to Barca. One wag even claimed that the pot holes in the car park would be filled ;-)
