Fantastic stats thread revealed a fact that surprised me. In 2010/11 The Valley was most popular away ground for visitors yet last season it was 11th most popular.

    2010/11 = easy to beat

    Last season = fortress.

I guess most teams/fans presumed they had already lost when they played us and didnt want to travel 100's of miles to see it, plus most fans would have ticked The Valley off the new ground list in the previous 2 years.

    1. It was a much more northern league.
    2. The higher likeliness of your team getting beat.

No Norwich, Millwall or Southampton this season.

Lots of fans would have seen the Valley as a new ground, after 3 years the novelty had worn off

some of the biggest games were on TV and midweek

Maybe as well, people have less hard earned to spend with all the job cuts and maybe saving their money.

If we stay at The Valley how many away fans will Dartford bring?

If we move to The Peninsula how many away fans will Real Madrid bring?

    1. It was a northern league
    2. All the closer sides were very small supported clubs
    3. We charged 25 when most others charged 17-20

    So sorry mate, NOT.
Why dig someone out over something like that??? All a bit overly aggressive for no reason in my view.
Why the F do people have to jump on simple things on forums for no reason??

Perhaps I should have put "I agree most implicitly with this posting". Serves me right for using forum terminology on a forum really!! When will I ever learn??

Last season we averaged 15.5k and virtually all of us were miserable most of the time.
This season a few more returned (and a few new ones arrived) and we managed just shy of 17.5k with most of us happy most of the time.
We should gives ourselves a modest pat on the back.

3000 if they are doing well
If we move to The Peninsula how many away fans will Real Madrid bring?
    None. Why would they? ;-)

Because the Red Devils only came on the final day of the season and other fans got jealous?

Much more likely to enjoy the away ground experience if you win I suppose.

I guess this is what we were missing at the Valley on the last day of the season.

I would like to point out that The Valley is beginning to look tired for a relatively new stadium. The red seats come in about 4 shades of pink, rust all over, scrubby concourses etc
