iPhone to iPad apps - help needed

Paid for the pro version of an app on my iPhone a few months ago (flight tracker), recently got an iPad and synced etc, however it only gives me the original free version of the app when the sync completes on my iPad, any ideas, software licensing issues at play?

    Could just be that not all Apps are available for both i-pad and i-phone. Some are designed for one only.

    Sometimes they don't sync over. If you go to the app store on your iPad and repurchase, it will say you can download for free.
