He's a real enigma. Can't see he is ever going to be mentally.strong enough to be a consistent top player
Remember when he did something silly in front of goal in pre-season and was immediately subbed, guess some never learn.

Only bet I have alive is Italy to win and that's just to cover what ive lost on Ballotelli and Silva this game !

Great ball from Giovinco there, @mortimerican great shout to see him come off the bench. Met him once in Florence train station in his Empoli days, made me feel like a giant

Torres in his liverpool days would be finishing them chances. His confidence has gone big time since being a chelsk player

Disagree, his confidence had long gone before he moved to Chelsea

I think we know now why he didn't start the game.

Thought it was a decent tactical game. Spain are not as good as I thought, and Italy were better than I was expecting.

Torres is sooo close to being absolutely brilliant.

that 'sooo close' being able to put the ball in the net? Pretty big part of being a good striker.

Torres had a shocker. The commentator made an excuse that Torres' first chance was maybe excusable because he had just come on. Di Natale managed to bury his chance minutes after coming on!
  • Turned into a good game in the end 2 great goals and numerous missed opportunities with Buffon making one Worldy save from inniesta

Don't get the no strikers approach from the spainish Stinks of an arrogance that don't become them , was really looking forward to them in this tournament but now I doubt they will make the semis tbh ,

Italy could surprise a few that is for sure

So the run of Spain not beating Italy within 90 minutes for 92 years goes on, for anyone backing Spain tonight I did warn you!

Italy will surprise as many as denmark do. I'm part Italian and think without the pace a lot of the opposition have, they will struggle.

The best game so far. Two technically gifted sides. Spain only started to play when they reduced the midfield and brought Torres on, although he did miss a couple of chances. Spain will need to resolve the same kind of problem faced by ex England managers .. for : Lampard or Gerrard read Torres or Fabregas. Both should qualify and Italy, as always, when the bell rings, they come out ready and willing for a scrap.

Well at least the Italians appear to have worked out where the goal is....
4 World Cups later I think they already knew where it was...
