Former Russian International and first Russian player to play in England when he joined Ipswich. Perhaps better known nowadays as the father of tennis player Elena.
He was talking to Keys and Grey on Talksport earlier and it was mentioned that he will be assisting Paul Hart this season.
He said what a great club Charlton are and how much he was looking forward to his new job. Sounds as though it is a further statement of the club's intent to concentrate on our younger players.

Thought he had been coaching with the academy for a few years or at least he was 3 or 4 years ago. Maybe he's coming back. Also coached at some local schools.0

Excellent signing - we need someone of this ilk - this could prove to be the most effective signing - 25% success rate and our youngsters are right up with the best of their age group skill-wise but it is within the head that makes or breaks a player - so I hope that he will address the head part and produce a crop of players that will not look out of their places in the Prem...0
