I'm sure none of them attended the Chinese olympics and won't be cosying up to them or Saudi establishment for example at future sporting events as surely that would be a tad hypocritical.

Selective principles are so cringeworthy.

Isn't the point though that human rights, political and social freedoms are (very slowly) getting better in China whereas they are now regressing in Ukraine. I think the government has done well to take strong stance on the Tmyschenko situation. Let's see what they do if England get to the final !

It is good that they are taking a stand over Viktor Yanukovych and the imprisoment of Yulia Tymoshenko which was politically motivated.
China on the other hand are tyrants. Killing their own people. Forcing abortions. Working there people for little money. Especially those in the west of the country who they class as sub human. And let’s not get on to their foreign policies.
Yeah they might be getting better, but they are still a long way off. It is selective priciples.
