i have been on holiday over the past 2 weeks - have we relised the squad numbers for next year?

    I was wondering about that, usually theyve been announced well before the final week before the season kicks off havent they?

    Not been released yet, but I'd hazard a guess at 24 - Fortune and 3 - Powell :o)

    Chris Powell was 15, Fortune 14, Toddy 10, Iwelumo 9, Dickson 18?, Bent 19, Weaver 1, Mootoo 2, Thatch 3, Semedo 4, Paddy5, Magic 6, Reid
    7, Sinclair 8, Ambrose 11

    That makes sense, Medders - if Pards hasn't yet released squad numbers.
    Perhaps he was waiting to sign the '2 new players' ?

    Most players are superstitious and consider the number 13 shirt unlucky.

    Exceptions include Danny Murphy, who wore 13 at Liverpool and, of course, at Charlton.

    I see many established players have kept their traditional squad numbers despite being obvious first team starting players, eg Jerome Thomas.

    Some new players, eg Varney, who we expect to be 1st team at £2.5 million, is only 12.

    Diawara keeps 5 - so mayber Pards keeps Diawara......?

    Varney wore 12 at Crewe though, might be more him asking to be no. 12 for lucky reasons rather than him being ignored for 9 or 10 and dumped with something less fashionable

    diawara has been promoted - he wore 23 last year, that might tell us he stays even more emphatically

    Eyesore, good point about Varney being 12 at Crewe and wanting to keep his 'lucky' number.
    And Diawara, getting the traditional centre half number 5 . I hope he stays.

    seems odd Diawara being given a starting number. As you say, perhaps a transfer is now looking unlikely.

    Cory Gibbs has got a number - and now we know why.......

    Shaun Bartlett was the previous number 17 and hasn't really left the club.

    Maybe Cory Gibbs is a pseudonym for Barts - and we don't see much of Gibbo/Barts because he was away scoring a goal against Spurs recently?
