    Going back a bit and heroes from my youth and beyond:

    Dave Shipperley
    Johnny Giles
    Bob Curtis
    Phil Warman
    Arthur Horsfield
    John Humphrey

    And just to be a bit controversial may I mention a Millwall legend who, to my mind, was a cult figure during the short time he was with us " 'arry boy" Cripps.

    Absolutely agreed with Kish, Steve Brown and John Robinson. Add to that, and I repeat, Martin Pringle. Not the best, or even best-looking, player and, yes, he missed absolute sitters. But then he'd run the length of the pitch and score a solo screamer. And, as I said, I thought he and Hunt had a good understanding in that Championship winning season. Like at Bolton away, when he got on the scoresheet and set up Hunt's goal.

    Funny how Jonny Fortune rarely gets a mention in these things, wasn't a particularly great player, stuck around for a long time and scored one hell of a goal.

    I second Martin Pringle, in his early days he was everything at a cult hero is. Shame for us all that the Valley turned on him in the end. Makes me sad when that happens.

    I was a big fan of Pringle and real shame how his career ended,he had so much pace.Its really difficult to separate favourite players and cult heroes when thinking back.Kish and Paul Williams were favourites but doubt they would be classed as cult heroes by many.

    The bloke from Portugal, you know, the fella who wasnt enamoured by Millwall?
    And the bloke who played up front, with a name that sounded like a fanny.

    They were both cult heroes to me.
    And Johnny Robinson.

    I've never seen a Charlton player with the same amount of skill to dribble past players than Paul Mortimer. It was as if he would take it past two or three players EVERY time he got it at his feet!
