    One point a lot of non-murray fans are missing is the domino effect of a British win. If Murray can do it then it will improve the chances of an English winner in the next few years. For one it could ignite further interest in the sport and secondly the wave of expectation would be decreased on other players coming through.

    A long way to go though.

    As Becker just said, no shame in losing to Federer. Pity he didn't take it to 5 sets but least he won a set, was unlucky in the 2nd then seemed to run out of gas as Federer got stronger.

    Maybe Murray will be a nearly man, but would be surprised if this is his last Grand Slam final.
