Jimenez's Share increase (change to CAFC Holdings)

Kermorgant the kitten is doing great and has a new home you'll be happy to know
So this is what I just don't get. Any form of board / ownership change always has some form of announcement, even if its a carefully worded, factual vanilla statement. See the Newell announcement for example.
There will be no further statement on this I've been told.http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/sport/9814092.Jimenez_boosts_share_holding_in_Charlton_Athletic/
The first report on this matter? Could force the club to make a statement.
Surely this is fundamental information to share with supporters ?
No disrespect, but I'd rather be informed of board changes than new air conditioning units being fitted at the training ground or the progress of Kermorgant the Kitten.0 -
So no more news?.Yeah why is Jimenez mute?.
To be fair Tony Jimenez has been mute from the first day he arrived at the club, the press were all told he was off limits for interviews as soon as the takeover was completed.

I was told there would be no comment and that is it.
and when you asked why not what were you told?

A spokesman for Charlton Athletic told News Shopper this lunchtime there would be no further comment on today’s confirmation Jimenez is now the single biggest shareholder or to any other questions about the club’s finances.
in other words none of your F8cking business.0 -
Yes, remind me to share a drink with you next season.0

In defence of Henry, the derision handed out to the doubters on page 1 by oohaah was far worse.
But as AFKA has spoken its better to try and not bicker amongst each other.
Everyone wants whats best for the club and hopefully everything will get sorted.

seriously - does anyone really know the truth? why all the speculation? why setting of so many rumours? None of us know and players are being signed are they not? what more do we al need? so shares are up - so that must mean he is selling does it? how about he is investing his time and money into the our club? lets be honest NO ONE KNOWS! they haven't hidden anything to my knowledge, how can we all just all of sudden "turn" against owners? Jesus mary and joseph all calm down!0

At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious none of us have a scooby what this actually means. What I do know is that when something good happens people tend to want to share the news. Shout it from the rooftops and generally bask in the warmth of feeling generated by the good news. When shit happens people tend to shy away and keep a low profile and only say what is absolutely necessary so that the shitiness is deflected and goes away as quickly as possible. I know where I currently stand on whether this is good or bad.0

In the words of the Housemartins ....
Something's going on, a change is taking place
Children smiling in the street have gone without a trace
This street used to be full, it used to make me smile
And now it seems that everyone is walking single file
And many hand their heads in shame
That used to hold them high
And those that used to say hello
Simply pass you by
Think for a minute, stop for a minute

Just a thought
could the under 10% ers still all be front individuals funded from just the one individual/group, but split up simply to avoid announcing the fact?0 -

Not from Jiminez. You will not find a quote from him ever regarding Charlton or much else and as the News Shopper stated the press were warned that he was out-of-bounds when the takeover was announced. Perhaps he is shy, perhaps he considers himself not articulate enough or does not want to get asked difficult questions

I have been trying to follow this from the start and not sure if I get it or not, maybe I am a bit dim.
Could this be all planned from the start and PV left as was originally planned when the original take over took place?
Could this mean
1) We actually have a lot of money coming our way and we could be the Next man city/ Chelsea
2) We have no money and we cease to exist or go into admin, or start a new club, like AFC Wimbledon
3) Nothing changes and this really doesn't change anything.
As I am a bit slow, can someone tell me what the most likely outcome is?

Either that or they take the view that it's none of your damn business. That's how I look at my private investments. These are business people, for better or worse. Murray et al were fans, too open with their business and ended up in the proverbial. Stick to what goes on on the pitch, if you don't like that then feel free to criticize the Directors

Good point. Very good point but if the club suddenly had something very good happen surely somebody would be rolled out to say it ? Perhaps the silence is because the changes are not complete yet ?At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious none of us have a scooby what this actually means. None of us know (unless board members are posting here).

I would expect 3, or possibly a small improvement or small deterioration.

Remember Peter Varney 'represented the new owners in the transaction', so he must have reasonably close links to them0 -

Jimenez must have some sort of love for Charlton.Because he has got more shares we are not a club he can sell tomorrow for £30m.He and the other members have a long term plan.Murray is a sensible person who loves CAFC would not have sold to the wrong people fantastic last season. The plan to get us stable in the championship.Dont know if we will ever have enough money and squad for the premiership?.Time will tell.0

My thoughts exactly.0 -
Our club could make a short statement Alex newell shares 9.8 per centand another 9.8 per cent have been taken over by Tony Jimenez. The club knows about all the rumours but we want to tell our fans everything is ok.0
-
Well he can't be doing it just for the money. We not a club like Arsenal making profit every year.Jimenez must have some sort of love for Charlton.
Lolz.
