Gives us another option on the left, tall enough, young enough. Only a one year deal though.

Shall have to see how it works out but welcome to the Valley.

Was he released from Rangers because of their money problems, or just simply released because they didn't want/need him?

He is LOVED by Rangers fans. Father is a Gers fan and gutted to see him go.
  • Happy with this signing

They wanted to keep him, but he chose to take advantage of his right to search for a new club and take a trial with us.

Think Jackson as a central berth set aside perhaps.

We needed another left footer up pitch ,a one year deal suits us if it does not work out.

Sensible signing imo. Youngish, free and has played several games and been around the squad for a while already. If he's done enough to impress CP in that time then I am more than happy to be bagging him for now't.

Some fans will never be happy with a signing unless they've heard of him, but over the years we've done far better with cheap/obscure signings than we have with expensive/well known ones.

Bit different to the 3 year deals we were signing players up to last close season.
    But still, welcome Salim.
Someone else for Yann and Cedric to chat to.

They thought he'd be good for them in their current position and that he isn't good enough for us. Hopefully they are wrong.

1 year deal is okay with me means he'll have to impress to get a new deal either here or elsewhere. We probably have a extension option if he meets certain appearances.

Or another way to look at it is that last year we signed a player from non league on a 1year deal now we are signing players from rangers on a 1 year deal
  • Good signing. People have questioned his 'football brain' but at the very least he can be used as a sub to bring on and scare the opposition.

Reserve judgement having been burned feeling 'meh' on the signing of Kermorgant.

Is this someone who will improve our starting 11 from day one ?

1 year deal perhaps suggest not, but we will see.

  • The last one year deal we gave (barring reserve teamers) was to Bradley Pritchard, that worked out pretty well.

He has a decent turn of pace, will run with the ball and I reckon he'll have a bit of a hammer on him too, hope he makes a decent impact on the first team

Spoke to a couple of Rangers fans earlier (both Scots by the way) they rate him and say he's a good aquisition.
