    Great writer - I particularly liked Julian, Washington DC and Burr. Although he seemed a bit of a shit personally.

    RIP - I was in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast last week and saw his former mansion . As others have said a great writer.

    Also, a very early 'out' gay man which caused a stir at the time.
