So the SPL has kicked off already and Celtic were quite fortunate to snatch a 1-0 win but surely that's just a blip. Do any of the other teams have it in them to challenge for the title??? This article analyses who has the potential to fill Rangers' boots... http://blog.oddslife.com/2012/08/celtic-and-who-will-fill-rangers-boots/

No disrespect to the article, but the answer was always going to be that no club will challenge Celtic and there was, probably, no need to even do the analysis.

    Sad but true.

I hope it's not the the taxman.
  • Maybe but was worth looking into , especially when not too many seasons ago Hearts did so well under George Burley and showed it can be done (if it wasn't for bad owner decisions they could have gone all the way). It was just a shame that without Rangers in the top flight all the other clubs suffered through a loss of sponsorship etc money

In fairness Scotland used to have the most predictable division in Europe, now it has two !

For the record Rangers smashed East Fife 4-0 last night in the first round of the cup in front of 40,000. East Fife are in the division above with an average attendance of about 600.

As for nearly 40k no way i was sent crowd pics and there was no way 12k plus of empty seats no way in hell
  • I reckon Dundee United will finish second, they look pretty decent this season.

However, they still won't get within 20 points of Celtic.

Thats the way its going to be for the next 3 seasons, Gers will have a few blips, but League cup results like last night will be the norm until the later rounds, both cups will be the same, and I expect them to walk the leagues with record points.

The punishment(s) have galvanised the supporters (who were not to blame) and with an effectively clean slate, with over 38K+ home gates, no other clubs will have a chance to compete with the money they will accumulate in the next 3 seasons with an 18 month transfer ban, low wages and high home gates.

Rangers then, Rangers Now, Rangers Forever

Rangers current team would almost certainly still finish second in the SPL
