They are on ebay and have been for months. Only thing I didnt like was the material and the fit was a bit out, still a bargain though

Nice one Shine. Really like the look of it.
  • Is it the new one with the silver badge or an original?

I've got 2 of them. Very good, obviously they are fake the material is a bit dodgy but for £12 I cant complain.

Bit of a shame though for the club, when some sweatshop in Thailand gets the income rather than the official clubshop.

I agree with you but the club shop doesn't sell retro shirts. I'd love it if they did, like a record shop having a band's back catalog.
There are loads of shirts I wish I could buy. The 87 away long sleeve for one. If I found a cheap fake one I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

This, I even mailed the club a few times about old shirts and the retro range with no reply. I must have spent over £700 on them in the last 12 months.

I have 3 1980's Woolwich ones from ebay. But they are originals. The club really should listen. I guess that Nike wouldn't like it though because they'd outsell this year's offering.

Superclive, Sorry buddy. They took me ages to source on ebay. I'll sell you one of my kids though?

I do have a match worn green and purple striped one from the mid 1990's that I'm not worried about. Some collector offered me 30 quid for it. I'd probably swap it for a couple of more recent home shirts in a size large.

I'd like to get hold of the mid sixties white shirt with red shoulder flashes.

I asked in the Club shop early last season about retro shirts and they said they were getting some. Never happened though!

Badge is wrong on this according to Vince....lol

  • The issue with the retro shirts the club can sell is they they can't put the manufacturer's badge on them. They also can't have three stripes on the sleeve as this is also an Adidas trademark. On that basis they are going to look less original than the fakes. The material might be a bit rubbish on the eBay shirts, but I suspect that the material in the 70s was no better. There was a time when football shirts were worn by all kids when I was young. I remember a sport shop when I lived in Basildon having two washing lines across the width of the shop and they hung all 22 First Division clubs home shirts on one line and the away's on the other.

They literately sold every home and every away shirt of all the top flight clubs. I remember the shirts moving from a material that is rather like current polo shirts to the shiny material that the shirt pictured above has. I was young, but I do remember the shirts feeling very cheap. They had none of the 'dry fit' water absorbing material that they all seem to have these days.

I think the fake shirt looks great. For half the price of a new one I can see the appeal.
