Thanks for that. My Father who is May's nephew didn't know of her existence until a few years ago. His Father worked at Woolwich Arsenal but he died in 1930 - he was Mays brother. What were your grandparents names? Was it Nicholson? My old aunt recalls a family called Nicholson with lots of kids. Do you recall Mays husband? Thats our missing link.

Grandparents name was Miller, they lived at 137 the other side was Mr and Mrs Tolley. Their house,s were oppersite the Pub,which I think was The Red Lion.
I remember seeing May,s husband, but cannot tell you anything about him.

Derek, I assume she had no kids? Would you remember her house number?

Hi.I don't ever remember seeing any while I was visiting my G/parants.Depending on how the house numbers go,I presumed they would start from the top of Francies Street,if that's the case it would be 139,if from the bottom it would be 135.

P.S. if your Aunt has any photos of Francies Street from that era,I would love to see them. Pity the Kentish Independent is no longer going,as that would be helpful for both of us.

Derek. I will ask her anyway. Although she is 96 she talks about Charlton a lot. She went out with a player ( whose name escapes me ) about 80 years ago. I posted it once but have no idea how to find it. So she was the original WAG. She remembers Charlton supporters shaking his hand in Eltham High Street when he was given a professional contract. In closing, she also went out with Charlie Drake !!

I certainly would love to meet her,do you think she would remember me,as being her neighbour,s grandson?I do know the estate where she lives,I looked it up on Gooogle Maps, not far from where she used to live.
