(Sorry to those who inhabit sites other than CL - I will try and collate these on the main site when it's up and running)
The Inspirational Swans Trust:

history http://www.swanstrust.co.uk/History.aspx
Swans Trust were able to purchase part of their club as part of a consortium when the club got in financial trouble, and look where they are now?
I hope to post some thoughts from one of their number on the story since the aquisition.

Some excellent points made in the Guardian article Razil..
as the article states......
With a structured relationship between supporters and clubs, and the benefits of supporter ownership now on the agenda, it is hoped that the committee and government will see through their recommendations.

Pompey - a live situation so to speak, I guess it depends on their administrator making the 'right' decision for the club

Razil, in no way do I mean to detract from the ST initiative. It is great to see people who care trying to do something. However it would appear that Portpin is going to be the buyer of Pompey. If so that will be because there is still way too much value at stake for someone who does not want to take a hit. (see comments I made on the Pompey thread).
The Swansea Trust was able to acquire a stake for less than £100k because their club was almost bust even after Mel Nurse had intervened at his own expense as a White Knight. That was affordable. Our problem, surely, is that too many people have too much money to lose for a ST to have any meaningful bargaining power?
The Guardian article sums it up. If CAFC owners are in it to make money rather than for the love of the club we are on a path that leads who knows where. That is not a reason for not having a ST though.
I am sorry I can't get along to these meetings to lend my support.0 -

As I said on another thread, having a trust as a credible rallying point if we ever have hard times must surely be a good thing.0
