So I think it's clear in most Charlton fan's minds that Morrison should start at CB. Who would you have to partner him provided we don't bring in another CB?

Cort - his presence in defense makes me sleep better at night...

Both very good options, but Cort edges it for me. Very good in the air.

Cort just at the moment but think Taylor had the better game out of the two last night.

Cort and I thought the opposite actually

Cort wins the majority of headers he goes for.
His positioning is good and is slightly faster than Taylor, he also has good Championship experience.

Not forgetting that Curbs even chose Cort for his fantasy championship 11, And he knows a thing or two!

Not much between them really. Maybe the hospital ball Cort played to Taylor is sticking in my mind.
  • Not too much to choose, but maybe Cort edges it as he is a bit quicker
  • Cort for me although not too sure about him last night...

Cort probably just about edges it but I would not be surprised/upset if a new CB (was it Seabourne or someone mentioned?) came in at least on loan.

Heard from Sotton' fans that 'Seabourne is a good Champ defender if not a bit slow'

Heard last night that Dorian Dervite is signing for us - I know he's been on trial in the summer, so maybe he'll gradually be phased into the first XI.

Cort for me ,as i said in the player marks thread i was surprised he was not subbed and played the whole 120 minutes .

At 32 I would have thought he might have been pulled off in extra time .Orient might have been a good game for Dervite if he is signing .

cort, don't think there is alot between either other than experience at this level and i think cort is more of a attacking threat from corners.

Cort for me better in the air and faster on the deck...saying that he didn't have a good game yesterday.
  • Well I think we can safely say that most of us want Cort starting and that includes me aswell.

    Cort
  • Someone in the match thread thought he pulled a hammy towards the end. Any confirmations?
  • Didn't go last night but I think Cort would edge it for me. Just slightly more mobile. I would worry abit if Morro was to get injured.
  • Cort but only just as Taylor can do a good job for us.

Definitely pulled up and had a bit of a limp but could have just been cramp for all I know.

taylor for me - both excellent CB's tho.
i thought taylor was excellent with morrow for the first 25odd games last season.
cort is better in the air, but taylor offers more pace at the back to sweep away pacey threats.
  • Cort- taylor does work well with morrison, however he is exposed when he meets a pacey striker, notts county 4-2 springs to mind

Taylor. But as others have said, there's not much in it. Great pro who always gives his all, and also offers options up front when attacking like Cort does. People seem to ignore that Morrison had a few ropey moments in games towards the end of last season. But the Taylor Morrison partnership is a really good one imo.
  • It must be a nice selection headache to have at this level, having to choose between Cort, Taylor and Morrison. Each pushing the other for a place in the first team.
  • Neither despite both playing well last season would prefer to see a new more mobile cb brought in if possible

Taylor - has a better partnership with Morro.
  • To clarify last night's game which paired the two together highlighted both their lack of pace and discomfort on the ball - think we need to make a step up this season
  • Cort played out of skin when he replaced Taylor last season and I'd start with him alongside Morrison. They are are two strongest CBs and best pairing.

Cort for me. England losing again.
