I'm pretty sure it was only a small fee and to take on the remainder of his contract.

Much too expensive even on a free given that Cook looks a very good prospect and in my opinion had a very good game last night - especially in the fast half.

That said, I would like to thank him for his contribution last season as he really made a fine contribution and came across as an honest and hard working proffesional. I wish him well for everyone but the scum next year. (no offence meant Bunny).

None taken. Yeah, he is a good pro at least - just gets on with it.

can't remembered where read that .. could have been bollox.
  • We were dumb enough to take Clarke in a swap deal ...

Hi, you come across as such a nice guy I found it hard to even write that.

Really enjoy your contributions, banter as opposed to moaning is just so much more fun. Reminds me of the old days.........shared terraces, jumpers for goal posts etc etc.

Jackett, with the support of Berrylson, quickly turns over players he doesn't think are going to do it for one reason or another. He was getting on the end of excellent chances last season and missing them appalingly for Millwall. Jackett's cute enough to see his physicallity is something that can be well used and brought into the team. If he's not doing it by October, he'll be up for loan. Really we shouldn't pay a penny for him. Take him on loan if we need to, and I'd suggest don't bloody sign him permanently unless it's short contracts.

Didn't we take him on the understanding that we could sign him for nothing if we wanted him, but when he knocked in some goals millsmall decided that could make a few bob & demanded 100k+ & we laughed & signed Kerkar

No - you couldn't afford his contract.

Scored some decent goals. OK the first was a fluke but a cracking header at home v Orient I think when he headed home a Cook cross and a good goal up at Preston.

Wouldn't be my first choice as new striker but beggers can't be choosers.

You obviously have not come across some of the beggars in south london

    He did well for us.
But will he start ahead of Kermo,Bwp,Haynes.. I doubt it.

So not worth a punt in my opinion.

I would like to see someone like Danny in the squad. In the past we have had him, Kandol, Akpo and even Clarke - limited footballers but with the experience and physicality to come on and give defenders a tough time to create openings for others, different to what we have currently. Wouldn't want to pay money or good wages when there are so many of the type out there.

I really don't want N'Guessan, although I don't think he would be an awful singing. Its just I don't want him on the wing and I don't think we need him up front now that Fuller has signed. However, there is 1 thing I very much like in that article - "he wants to join charlton" - that is exactly the right player we need. Someone who genuinely wants to play for us is a good thing, and gets us one up on Millwall which is never bad. So a no from me although there are worse players out there.

    So is your spelling.

Hate these kind of posts, always feels like bullying to me.
Agree. But this " Oggy Red" character is a well known bully. Ex-copper I believe.
  • Before we signed fuller I would have said give him a chance, however I feel unless we get him on a free we are wasting precious money

Decent right winger, Didn't get much game time down Leicester but he did play well when he did. Scoring on his debut. Also done very well for Millwall. Powell knows him very well. Would be a good signing for you.

well yer LCFC N'Guessan was on loan with us so we know him. Did well but not sure he's better than what we have got. We needed a RB, CB and LW for the squad rather than team - we got Wilson, Dervite and Cook. I think we have enough in numbers now, just need replacements. IE - Hughes and Clarke out, CDM and Striker in.

Oh right didn't notice. I Just think if he has regular game time hes a decent player.
