enough to invest money if Murray wants out.

Steve Davis (probably helping his mate Hearn out at Orient)

Glenn Tilbrook?

Even those two are probably not in the league we need.

I'm struggling to think of any others!

I very much doubt Glen Tilbrook is "even" a millionaire

What about the guy who always appears in the Times rich list and list and is connected with Charlton FC? Sorry forgot his name.

I doubt MacKenzie is a millionaire but he's the sort of bloke that could rustle up money.

He's also a media mogul who likes to do sensational things though....

    Grade is already a director....

I'll ask around down under...see if anyone wants to invest a dollar or two

Grade hasn't got proper wedge, he's always been an employee.

I'd suggest our very own David White, but he's more corrupt than that Thai PM.......

Trevor Hemmings, the guy who owns half of Blackpool front.

    lol.

I wonder if a takeover did happen - will we still have a fan on the board? :-)

and another thing - i reckon the boys that won the directors box lunch and game should get their match in quick!! :-)

Suprised no one has suggested its time to Bring out the Branson.....

Though i wrote an article in the blog on this subject on Friday, having thought about it for a few days, i'm very uneasy about the possibility of the club being run by a non-charlton person, or at least, someone who doesn't know what this club is all about.

And if we did get a massive big artificial cash injection, would the club be able to sustain it over the long-term if

    a. success doesn't follow
    b. the new owners failed to deliver
    c. they get bored after a while.

As an aside, there will be an excellent piece (not by me !) posted in the blog on this subject later this evening.

    This really depends on:
    a. how do you define success. I'm sure you'd get different answers from Chelsea, Blackburn and Wolves supporters.
    b. Yes, as in a certain former chairman whose mis-management almost sunk the club completely.
    c. if any club loses their sugar daddy they're going to struggle. I can't see Chelski going down the river if Roman gets fed up with footie.

I have said on other posts that I'd welcome new money if it came from a 'proper Charlton' (if such a thing exists) source. Unfortunately in the football world money is king and I don't think we'd be able to resist a huge injection no matter what the source.

I'm not getting all misty eyed for the 'good old days' but would feel a little further away from the Club that is part of my life should Charlton be taken over by someone without an understanding of it's history.

We could ask Bill Gates for a couple of his Billion or we could all have a whip round and buy the club ourselves - we did buy Ronnie Moore (never did receive anything for my share).

Spot on Alex. Every fan believes their club is special, but our recent history and the bonding it brought about is unique. It'd be great if that could somehow be used as a significant part of eny deal, though I'm probably living with the Rommedahls (fairies!) on that one. We need any investor either to see that as something positive to harness, or to have a clause relating to our bond written in. I'll dream on...
ps. Still got that Ronnie share cert somewhere too

I think that's a bit harsh but I hear they count the spoons after every board meeting just in case.
