Watching Kerms spraying it around I was struck by the notion that he reminded me a little of a young Zidane who played as an aerially dominant forward. I wonder with his mobility and passing if one way of accomodating Fuller might be to drop him back into midfield where he would add physicality and creativity - getting our most gifted player more involved. Insane idea?

Somebody already mentioned this .. was it you on another post. It might not be a bad idea. We certainly need some bulk in midfield and other than the unfit Hughes, there is noone else. The only problem is Kermorgant's tackling .. a red card waiting to happen .. what he gets away with as a striker, he wouldn't as a midfielder
  • No I can't claim credit for that Lincs, I must be plagiarising by accident.
  • If we don't pick up a bit in the next few games it might be worth a punt. Anything might be worth giving a go, certainly wouldn't let himself get bossed around.

Great minds think alike. Reminds me of my 'vision' of playing Llera as a striker .. all and sundry poo pooed the idea .. 3 months later it was the best idea since sliced bread. Kermy in midfield. Are you too young to remember Ray Kennedy ?. A lumbering striker @ Arsenal, a midfield revelation @ Liverpool
  • Could be wrong but I think that's where he sometimes played for Leicester. Agree with Lincs about the tackling though, plus we'd need a very good holding midfielder to make this work. Could see it happening as a 4-4-1-1 tho.
  • Kennedy was Just before my time, Lincs. Always been fascinated with players switching position. One of the most amazing that I remember was Lambert who was a mediocre winger at Motherwell and St Mirren. Dortmund signed him and you're thinking what do they want him for. Then they play him in central midfield and you're thinking, daft Germans. Next thing he's the best holding mid in Europe and winning the Champions League.
  • Could try a 4-3-1-2 with Hollands Jackson and Stephens as the three in the centre Kermo in front of them with Fuller and BWP upfront.
  • A tall powerful midfielder can send out a strong psychological message to the opposition. Kermy certainly has the strength, skill and vision. My concern would be whether his lack of pace would be exposed and he'd pick up too many cards for late tackles. Playing alongside someone like Pritchard who could nip in and pick up the pieces might work. I've no doubt Kermy could open defences and create chances. He'd also probably get more success in the air by attacking the box from a deeper position. Integrating BWP, Kermy and Fuller into the same team would certainly make us stronger.

Thats gotta be worth a go, not Hollands Jackson and Stephens which was also mentioned
  • 4 1 4 1. hollands holding, yann, stephens, bwp and green all coning into play off Fuller holding up. Can go 451 to strangle a game but play with fluidity on the attack
