Watering The Pitch

Before kick off at Blackpool we had the normal woosh of sprinklers watering the pitch. This is in a part of the country where it is always raining. Once the game started it soon became apparent that one part of the pitch was waterloged with standing water.

Why don't clubs think before they turn on the tap?

Agree with this. We said so before the game. Seriously wonder if it's a tactic to catch out the short stud wearing oppo.
  • I'm sure every clubs does this.
  • It didn't seem to work if it's a trick

I think the main reason most clubs water the pitch is to soften up the ground. This makes it easier on the joints and therefore less injuries.
