He looked really slow when I saw him in a CAFC shirt. Assume he wasn't fit.

Wagstaff only made bench for Orient - anyone know why?

Leon Clarke is surely the greatest player ever to have the first name Leon and the surname Clarke
  • 10 goals in 12 games now according to the BBC. Scunthorpe still in the relegation spots (4th bottom). He did similar at Chesterfield last year...clearly likes being a big fish in a small pond.

Excellent finish for his second yesterday. First was a pen.

I think you have hit the nail on the head.

Scunthorpe should sign him up, as he is doing well there, feeling well and scoring goals. He could be the difference between Scunthorpe between being in League 1 or League 2.
  • trouble is with a goal ratio the equal of Jordan Rhodes last year i am not sure they could afford the £8M
  • if he can get 10 in 12 for a struggling league one club, how many do you reckon he would score for us in the champ. I know it doesnt work like this but given a chance I reckon 6 in 12 maybe

Powell doesn't seem to want him, he has four strikers plus a loanee in front of him plus his contract is up in the summer.

The best we can hope for is that his goal attract interest from a team at the top of league 1 or bottom of the Championship and they take all his wages off our hands. Any fee we can get would be icing on the cake IMHO.

  • Clarke, Hayes, Lisbie, McLeod - all scoring goals, all league one level at best.
  • Lisbie proven premier league goal scorer - just watch the Liverpool at home game.

Your right Henry, Powell doesnt seem to want him and its his decision that we trust
  • Will this thread still be running in 5 years time , or until Leon hangs up his boots?

their manager has already said they can't afford his wages. Therein the problem. League 1 player on wages above League 1. Unless we ease his departure with a pay off we will be stuck with him.

what a poor comment - 1 game doesn't make you a proven goalscorer.

I'm struggling with this quoting business.

    It's not too difficult.

But you do have to press the "Quote" button first, you know.

    (smiley winky thingy)
