That depends on the away following of Palace - only because if they are still going well & we are sniffing around the play-offs it will be a massive match as it is in March...the business end of the season. If they can bring 3,000 I think that will be the biggest crowd. But, they usually bottle it.
Someone worked out that if we got on average the same amount of away fans that Palace get at Selhurst & were allowed to sell West Ham & Leeds thier full allocations we would have averaged circa 14,000 in a season where we struggled for most of it.
It just shows what an impact our rep has on our ability to compete at the level. However, I think that is slowly changing with the walkway.
Plus, as others on here have pointed out - our floating support is probably the most apathetic in the entire league. Out of about 25 Millwall fans I personally know only 3 of them are regulars, and 2 have never stepped foot inside the new ground.
This is probably down to the fact that unlike yourselves & Palace we have never had sustained success, ever. Fleeting moments, but no sustained period of being on the up to get more floating fans in the habit of going. We usually have a riot or sell our best players on the cheap & so only the commited fan keeps the faith year on year.
Who knows though - if we ever fluked it into the Premier League we might see the kind of benefit Charlton did, where you went from 8-10,000 average gates up to 20,000 sell-outs and then keep hold of a few?

And it's not a new thing. My Dad will profess to be Millwall through & through. And as a kid took me along a few times...but was too easily put off doing so after the 'famous' coach-smashing incident in the 60s after they lost their unbeaten home record. So he left me to my own choices and peer-group pressure, and I Saw The Light. Thereafter the only times he ever saw Wall was against us, and (still professing to be a Millwall fan) even had a ST at the Valley for a season.

As it is there will be a lot of Charlton fans in the home areas as I understand that currently there has been no restrictions on sales also a lot of mixed support families will sit together.

Oh and why will there be lots of CAFC in the home end? There are still away tickets available if they want them. A few down to family connections maybe, but not 'a lot of Charlton fans in the home areas'

Just been talking to a Leeds friend who went yesterday. As well as a very colourful and entertaining description of his day out and the general Millwall experience, he did confirm that it is unreserved seating, whatever your ticket might say.

Cardiff, Swansea, Stoke, Birmingham City...the usual suspects really. Id imagine the Met would do everything they could not to allow Spurs, Chelsea or Man United down there too.
After the Birmingham riot the likes of Wolves, Forest, Leicester, Portsmouth and Burnley were completely banned from the ground. So, I doubt theyd be allowed on the bottom tier either.

Thats not an easy question to answer...I dont think any club would like to see their identiy eroded just to chase the Sky money...bar perhaps Palace?
However, I think we are a bit protected from such a dilemma by the simple fact that The Den can only hold 15,000 home fans, if that. And given the fact we average around 11,500 in this division and probably have 20,000 different fans going over the course of the season I just dont think there is the room to be swamped by a happy clappy mob - like Fulham have since their rise up the leagues.
Factor in the fact that I believe your goodselves have sewn up the nice club to come and watch for the floating football families of south London and west Kent market, I doubt many middle class non comitted families from say Sevenoakes will be driving their 4X4 into Bermondsey anytime soon - whether we are playing Chesterfield or Chelsea.
What I would like to see is a period of steady progress on the pitch, without riots etc and get more of our current floating fanbase going more regularly. The club has not been able to stay at this level for more than 5 seasons in the last 22 years, and has had two major riots in that time. If we can buck those trends then maybe we can carry on getting more & more lasped fans actually attending games.
As if we need a millwa** fan to tell us how many supporters we would take here or there.

Last year we averaged 11,500 in a season we struggled for most of it, had awful home form and whilst in the middle of the worse recession since the 1930s.
We are a small club - but we are actually a growing one. Our crowds just look small to you because you have bigger gates.

Fair do's and true about the size of the club.
QPR aren't much bigger and their fanbase is changing, then again you seem to have a pretty clued up owner.
Was going to walk from new cross. is surrey quays closer then?
Surrey Quays station (or rather Surrey Docks, for those of us old enough to remember) is probably closer and easier to get to the ground from, but if you're training it as far as New Cross then I wouldn't bother the hassle of changing and waiting for a tube, it would probably be quicker just to walk.

As for parking...I would try Folkestone Gardens. Never known cars to be broken into there and easy to get back on to A2.

We just played Leeds United who also had to deal with no trains to South Bermondsey. Other than a few verbals afterwards when they were escorted back nothing happened.
