    I remember at the time the point was made that the club did the deal and said they were in discussions about the link up. Always struck me as unlikely to deliver any value. Once Liverpool had Shelvey why would they be interested in any kind of a link up.

    She seemed to thing £16 quid for the cheapest bottle of wine, in a pub, was very reasonable

    Shelvey looking good for Liverpool. Set up Henderson with a chance with a lovely flick, good passing and energy and just scored the opener.

    I hope that Charlton can reach a position where we can see our excellent young players stay at the club a while, so we can enjoy them to play and develop.

    Glad to see him do well though.

    My understanding is that it was a deal in name only, Liverpool did not offer the players we wanted and we would have to fund the full wages of the players. Ecclestone was not part of the deal but set up I think by TJ
