Atmosphere v Brighton

My take is pretty simple: you chant at the away fans to mock or take a dig at them. This can be done many ways. If you do it about the gayness or perceived gayness of Brighton, you're saying that it is inherently a bad thing, something they would not like and something they can be hassled for. None of the justifications here hide that.0

So lets get a list of songs and give it to the Commisars(sic) who can vet it. then that list goes to the one party state that the morlists on here want who will the TELL you what you can sing any one who then sings a non party song will be sent to Smallwall for ever.
I wont be singing anti gay songs (what everthat is is deemed by the moralists) or pro ones !! just like i ignored the incest song and i would suggest thats the way people handle the issue----ignor the song and it becomes a solo and dies.0 -

Your point has been proven?? So you come out with a load of ignorant, offensive and uneducated drivel as this:cafcfan1990 said:and my point has been proven lol. I already explained to Henry I was misinterpreted (completely my fault). And yet I'm getting a load of stick again.
But if anyone challenges you they are `pricks' looking for a row? And you didn't explain anything to Henry...in fact you refused to `explain your point' cos you `couldn't be arsed' and actually got the 'ump with him cos he implied you were simple. I reckon he was being kind.cafcfan1990 said:
but targeting someone for their race is clear racism, singing homophobic songs at Brighton is different. It's just a bit of fun.
For the record, I agree homophobia is terrible, just don't agree that singing it to Brighton fans is that bad.
I wasnt condoning, but IMO, singing homophobic songs at Brighton is just giving them a bit of banter/stick.
I meant that I don't feel chanting it at Brighton fans in general is that bad as the majority will not be gay.

Singing at football matches to the other fans is just friendly banter/stick. I find singing homophobic songs at Brighton fits in with this as although it clearly could offend, I think its just having a laugh at Brighton's reputation. For me, I wouldn't sing because its boring, they get it all the time. I think some people will agree with me and others won't, each to their own. I really couldn't care less. For the record, I appreciate homophobia is bad, as NLA says, carries same ban as racism.
As to the point about 'pricks looking for a row', that statement was inadvertently disrespectful towards Henry for which I apologised. I also apologise to DA9 as I realise at the time, both of them had the right to pull me on what I said.
However, as far as I was concerned, the matter was closed. Uncle then dragged it up backed up by NLA and you. I said move on because whats the point in arguing all over again? But Uncle comes out with, 'I'm shaking like a leaf' (although I think he got the wrong end of the stick with 'move on') and then I am effectively called ignorant and uneducated by you, before you say Henry was kind in calling me simple.
I can't recall meeting you? I do not understand why this matter has been brought up again and I am the subject of personal remarks. You have completely emphasized the point of people wanting rows on here.

Are we allowed to sing potentially offensive songs about regions - ie Dirty Northern Bastards ?
How about players' hair or lack of it ?
What about a player's weight ?
How about an opposing fan eating burgers and getting fatter ?
Or anyone being ginger ?
Or unemployed ?
How about a full back's height ?
What if you are from Gillingham and possibly a pikey ?
Or stating that no one likes you 'cos you're scum ?
The evangelical bollocks on here is amazing - heaven forbid we should upset anyone.

Whats meeting me got to do with anything whatsoever? So thats your paradigm is it? Only people who `know' you can comment right? Get over yourself....cafcfan1990 said:

This is a public forum if you hadn't noticed. If you are going to post the kind of nonsensical/offensive tripe that you have these last few days then you can't be surprised if people challenge you over them....it's what happens. If you can't live with it maybe you should think twice before posting.

We need to be more generic & should return to songs from the good old days.
You're gonna get your ******* heads kicked in.
You'll never make the station.
You're going home in a big white ambulance.
No way are them songs racist, homophobic, regionist, baldist, fattist, heightist, gingerist, unemployedist, shortist, pikiest.
Everyone happy ? ...........0 -
Fat people don't have a history of being lawfully discriminated against and not allowed to marry each other. Clearly more of a sensitive subject.0

The sign on chants are so embarrassing they make me want to cry. There's a world of difference though between targeting someone's sexuality or race - discrimination on both grounds being enshrined in law incidentally - and targeting their hair colour, current employment status or the team they support. Please tell me you get that.PL54 said:Are we allowed to sing potentially offensive songs about regions - ie Dirty Northern Bastards ?

That said, targeting the team they support might cause us issues under the religious discrimination act...0 -
My fat, ginger, gay friend will be shouting abuse all game to all the straight Brighton fans.0

It isn't illegal to be gay so is it illegal to call someone "gay" ? I don't know but would guess not.
Now if we charged gay fans more for their tickets then that would be discrimination.

it's not strictly illegal as such, but easily can be. Can lead to assault even with no physical harmPL54 said:

"We can see you holding hands"
"Sing when you're rimming"
"We forgot that you were queer"
"You take it up the aaaaaaarse, you take it up the arse"
"We know why you're standing up"
All have to be sung. They're to a club renound for being in the gay capital and are not in any way malicious. I don't know one gay person who would be offended by us singing these; man up and stop being so precious and PC.0 -
