Apology from Matt Little over Twitter comments last night

I have been asked by Matt to post the text below on this site as he isn't a member:

I sincerely apologise, I did not mean it in any way, it was said in the heat of the moment - I had recieved so many threatening / abusive messages over a blog that wasn't even offensive (in my view). These included personal stuff regaurding my family mentioned in the blog and on Charlton Life. I have had a year from hell family wise and threatening to knock me out (in response to a jokey reply) was the final straw I guess. Every week I get abuse, but Charlton fans have gone even more over the top than Leeds fans (they really do hate us). I lashed out.

I feel awful for my words, heat of the moment or not, and will be making a donation to Great Ormond Street.

    What did he say?

Something pretty offensive about @ValleyGary's unborn daughter. Let's not repeat it on here and move on as best as we can.

Totally agree with that, no need to repeat what was said.

  • He wrote a blog about how much fun it is to abuse Leeds fans! The donation is a nice gesture.

I really was struggling to take this off my mind last night, how someone could say something so vile.

    Still baffled by it all.

He's apologised, but has he been told by the News Shopper that his blogs are not required anymore?

When will we know that his donation to Great Ormond Street has gone through?

Im glad he's apologised and making a donation, although bending the truth in regards to my original comments a touch. We was both winding each other up but i never expected a comment like that.

Lets move on and cheers for that NS.

vile, man who like the rest of his ilk has a complex about who he is. I think the donation and apology is the least he could do and if I were the NS I would worry about the image having somebody as part of the paper portrays

Think of the kind of stick a lot celebs/football players get on twitter everyday, they don't reply with something like that. I also don't think he should be mentioning his 'year from hell' in an apology.

But anyway, move on as Gary requested.

  • We have all said things in the heat of the moment that we regret later on.

He's said sorry and that should be that.
  • Fair play but very Millwall type of apology, filled with excuses.

They are wronguns. And his apology is just why I have always detested anyone of his ilk who supports the Spanners off of some deluded idea that he will immediately be a "lad" by association. The fact that the NS cannot see through that thin veneer of bull shit is what surprises me.
  • What is VG no longer on the forum?

Didn't see the message, but agree at least you have seen today your errors and apologised.
  • 'but Charlton fans have gone more over the top than Leeds fans'.

Bloody hell, will the Charlton fans never cease with making things ugly. First they bring hostility to the previously jovial local derby and now they've sullied the internet.

Fair play for apologising though (even if it is a very 'Millwall' apology).

i had to be a dickhead but that apology is the most stereotypical millwall apology ever. But as its been said, it takes a real man to see when he's wrong and apologise.

An apology should be just that - I shouldn't have said the things I said - I was totally wrong and out of order and I am going to do xxx to put it right. If you add the other stuff- it is an apology but saying it was partly your fault. That isn't a full apology in my books.
