Slater in the programme

Not much, except TJ and MS presumably know that if he was to resign it would damage their credibility. He's almost playing the role of the old supporters' director in that respect, except he's also still underwriting the overdraft.Davo55 said:It was great to hear RM today and I thought he trod a very fine line with good diplomatic skill. I just don't know how much power and influence he wields on the board these days (would be very interested in Airman's take on this point) but I for one am delighted he is still there and long may it continue.

As Lancs Lad said, us exiles would like to know exactly what is being referred to, but I think I get the gist. Whatever it is, I know whose side I am on... How much are European subscriptions to VOTV Airman?0
-
Happy to help selling VOTV if help is needed.0
-
RM paid tribute to the role of VOTV those in the Valley Party his fellow directors of the last 20 years the staff and fans0

Thanks for that, Beckboy. Nice to hear that Slater now considers himself a Charlton fan....0

Very strange, maybe taking an early holidayHenry Irving said:While we're talking about communication does anyone else follow Richard Cawley from the SLP on twitter?
None of the usual feedback from CPs presser yesterday and no mention of the game or result today.
Seems odd

Didn't actually say that though did he, and he's not. He's a Citeh fan. "experiencing the tensions of" and "being" a Charlton fan aren't necessarily the same thing.Weegie Addick said:Thanks for that, Beckboy. Nice toi hear that Slater now considers himself a Charlton fan....
Comparing the level of communication favourably with the message to our supporters is a bit like claiming rigormortis as a sign of life.0 -
Slater is entitled to say what he likes in the programme. Having said that, you can't erase Airman's role in our club's past and great to see Richard Murray acknowledge it at half time -without naming names -we knew who he was referring to.0

Peter Varney whilst incredibly not getting a mention was at the game yesterday as I saw him enter the players/executive entrance hopefully as a guest of RM!0

Can anyone quote murray: missed it having usual half time conflab on East concourse - doh!0

He filled a page without saying much at all. The only thing that really stands out is his disdain for those who worry about the lack of communication from the club. Seems to me that he thinks the supporters current and only role is to turn up on game day and cheer.Beckboy said:Slaters programme message best i can do

A celebration where at least 2 key names are not mentioned is always going to appear incomplete and rather uneasy. I have no idea if those people were not invited or declined to attend but good on RM for not allowing the celebration to omit an acknowledgment of their part in Charlton's success in the last 20 years.

Crawley says he was so late with breaking the Koc news that slater went mad and has subsequently banned the SLP from the valley
Allegedly0 -
Peter buys Millennium season tickets for himself and his family; that's how you get into that area.Latimer said:Peter Varney whilst incredibly not getting a mention was at the game yesterday as I saw him enter the players/executive entrance hopefully as a guest of RM!

Hadn't he been a very naughty boy for telling people what they already knew and could see for themselves re Koc, so Santa Slater crossed him off the list? Journos don't like that happening so the word tends to get around, but I'm sure it's just more journalistic lies. ;-)Rob62 said:

I think "ridiculous gossip" is the phrase of choice. Wasn't that Slater's response to the SLP when asked by them if Steve Kavanagh had resigned?0
-
thanks Beckboy0

I'm also hoping there will be a chance of a transcript or to listen again to his speech. I heard what RM said but there was a lot of between the lines listening to be done. He came across not only as a skilled political diplomat but a confident one as well. Could it be that RM finds himself holding the balance of power in the boardroom ?ShootersHillGuru said:Stop calling FlyingkiwiDK shortly !

Looking on Into the Valley, someone thought that in RMs speech he was saying goodbye. Not the way I saw or heard it but made me wonder whether he would still be around in the event of a major investment or buyout.0

I think Koc want to purchase CAFC Holdings which owns 90% of Baton which owns the club. Murray owns the remaining 10%0
