  • Tom Soares played 11 games for us apparently, he even scored a goal! We had so many loanees back then that I lost track of them, who did Soares score against?

No wonder we went down, look at our team that day:

Charlton: Elliot, Murty (Ambrose 74), Holland, Ward, Basey, Soares (Moutaouakil 79), Racon (Sam 74), Spring, Bailey, Dickson, Kandol.

Know its not on the same subject , but couldn't be bothered to start a new thread.
We were just a pointless answer as a team to have lost an FA Cup final.

I was shouting at the TV! And we were (obviously) a better answer than both Crystal Palace and Millwall.

I auditioned to go on the show a while ago but wasn't put through to the final stages, I think I was too good for them :-)

That truly is cack. Three ok players in Elliot, Ward & Bailey. The rest were League 1 and below quality!

It would be interesting to see what was the most 'bit-part' team we had that season, this line-up is surely up there. The thing is, a number of those players are half decent but were just thrown together with no real incentive to play for Charlton.

I actually thought Tom Soares was decent.

The only 2 that may get into our team now would be Ward & Bailey & they're not definites.

Is Kandol and Dickson our worst ever starting frontline?

We had another in the final a few weeks ago about Goal of the Year winners. Shaun Bartlett's was a pointless answer.

Dodgy keeping by Rob Elliott in that clip. Did he get a lot better or am I imagining it?

Only if you did not follow the team in the 70's and 80's. For every Hales and Flannagan, Hunt and Mendonca we have had a few Donkeys and Asses

I think we got all of them so I'm going to ask another if that's acceptable.

We gave 100 Charlton fans 100 seconds to name as many footballers who have scored for CAFC in the Football League Championship as they possibly could. (From it's introduction in 2004, can you name any player who has scored in the competition for the Addicks?)

Correct! Deon scored 5 goals, including a hat-trick against Norwich on the last day of the season. Chris Powell scored "that" goal against Coventry on the last day of the season previous.

    All three are correct.

Marcus Bent scored our first goal after our relegation against Scunthorpe. Unfortunately (although perhaps not surprisingly) his only goalscoring contribution for us at second tier level. Leroy Lita got three goals whilst on a one month loan from Reading and Greg Halford got two whilst on loan from Sunderland.

There's still another 40 players. That list could grow if there are some new goalscorers for the Addicks tomorrow.

Both correct. Waghorn scored just once whilst on loan. McCarthorse got a couple, including a last minute equaliser against his former club Leicester almost 5 years ago now.
