Finally succumbed and got jnr an xbox. What's the deal with live? Is gold better/cheaper? Managed to delay setting up account til boxing day ;-) any advice appreciated. COYA

Xbox live costs money to go gold .... W a gold membership u can participate in online features against other xbox live users .... With a free silver membership u can only play against computer0

Silver is useless. Can't do anything with it. The gold is actually very reasonable. Around 30£ for a year and with that comes the option to download free demo's watch videos go on you tube things like that. Plus playing games with your friends. Don't get sucked into doing things like buying one months membership an things. The small print states they are allowed automatically renew the membership at full cost each month even if you got the original at a reduced price.0

Get him it but warn him if you ever hear him call some one a "noob" you'll confiscate the Xbox. Xbox live is full of pre pubescent children telling me my mother's ability in the bedroom. So get it but remind him he still has to act polite and like an adult to people online.0
