Super Solly

The more I watch him play the more he impresses me. Great work rate, composed on the ball, times tackles well, wins his fair share of headers and for me our best player by a mile.

    Too short
  • Did well again today. Early on I thought he would have his hands full with Delfuenso. As always though he battles on and comes out on top. Has a real football brain too.

The boy is CLASS, no doubt about that. I really really really hope he's still here in feb

I really could see him playing not just in the Prem, but for a top 6 side. He was great last season but has come on leaps and bounds since then.
  • Delfonso tested him more than anyone I have seen so far do
  • How tall is he?
  • Prem quality no doubt about it

    5ft 3 and he's better than John Terry. But seriously he's 5 ft 8

Agreed. Very impressed by him, he was a threat with the diagonal ball over the top - surprised they took him off.

Will never make it. Too short, too thin, too weak.

Good game today. But that's saying nothing; he always has a good game.

It's extremely cool, just because it's Solly wearing it. I recently met him and was rather disturbed to find he is actually taller than me :( But I love the guy to bits, what a proper Charlton hero he is.

Think Solly has had sterner tests than Delfouneso this season. Taylor at Millwall springs to mind immediately, as does Lee Martin on Boxing Day.

The thing about Solly is consistency, he has the consistency of a good premiership player.

A "bad" day for him is a 6.5/7. He is consistently 7.5-9/10

Allardyce today saying he needs to buy a defender ...according to some on here he already has Solly ...never believed it, still don't

Solly hasn't been sold or even touted around. If a really too good to turn down bid comes in then things might change. But I doubt that this window.

I think Solly disposes of pacy players without any effort. Delfonso was a tricky player with a strong physique and I would guess that these are his least favourite to play against - which probably goes to show what a great player the lad is really as he can basically deal with anybody.

He is the best right back in the Championship by a very good distance and his link up pay with Wilson is excellent. His attacking play has come on leaps and bounds IMO and as a combo, they could be extremely effective in the premier league.
