Alan Judge is exactly the right type of creative midfielder we need; someone who will make runs from midfield. Charlton definitely need someone like him. They should do all they can to get him.

One Judge worth a BWP and a DG? For a L1 side that's not a bad deal unless their lad is something special.

Can`t believe he is worth both of them. Otherwise he wouldn`t be at Notts County!

Would be sorry to see green and BWP go but this confirms that they are surplus to requirements. Judge looked good against us last year but tend to agree with the view that if he was that good someone would have bought him already.

Both BWP and Green are very good L1 players but Curle is so dismissive of the idea in his interview I doubt that either would fancy going.

Judge would be an upgrade on Green and BWP is unlikely to be here next year especially if Azeez proves his worth. at Orient.
I think this would have been an excellant deal for us

What about something similar to Colchester involving Cook and Kerkar for Wordsworth? Or if he is not going to Notts what about throwing in Essex boy Green ,the developing Essex based left back Morgan Fox or Callum Harriott on a six month loan?
  • Judge was superb at the Valley last season and IMO is exactly the type of attacking/creative midfielder we need to add to the team.
Also he's only 24 so has a good long career ahead of him.
It's clear that Green and BWP are not central to CPs plans, so this is perhaps the time to move them on and thank them for their contribution to our recent success.
Would be very happy to see this deal go through.

Would also reduce the wage bill.

Would also reduce the wage bill.

which is probably why County rejected it. They can't afford BWP/DG wages. Swap deals rarely come about - hard cash would do it. Oh, sorry.

Notts need to cash in on Judge and this is simply Curle drumming up interest. Wouldn't mind him in our side and Green and BWP are clearly not fancied by CP.

    Proves we're skint.

Surely you could say the same about every transfer ever?

  • Judge out off contract in the summer. Reckon it would have been a decent deal for all concerned but wages could well have been an issue. As above prob just Curle drumming up interest.

I'd say that's a bloody good deal for Notts. BWP will score 15-20 a season and Green would get 10 and create a lot for others.
  • The good news is, if we were willing to offer those two, we are clearly serious about getting him, and with him out of contract in the summer he shouldn't cost too much, which is what we need.

He must be excellent .... That sounds like a good deal there....

Does it though ? if BWP and DG are surplus (not deadwood) to SCP's plans then moving them and their wages on in return for a player SCP wants, makes perfect sense to me regardless of if you are skint or not. Which in fact we are.

Good point, not as good as it first seems.

Did you notice comments from 'poundpie' on there? That's the chairman's wife. She says twice that the 'two for one' is NOT the deal that was on the table'. The red rag (nottingham post) always seems to get the wrong end of the stick when it comes to the black and white side of nottingham!

I'm wondering if it was something like, you get judge for good...we get BWP and Green until the end of the season on loan and you pay their wages. No way would we get either of these as permanent deals as you say. We wouldn't be able to afford their wages. Our chairman posted a message on our board the other day and said that it would have to be an offer of at least 500k to tempt him to even think of letting Judge go as in his opinion it would be season over for us. No one is going to pay 500k for him when he's out of contract in summer. At the moment, although unlikely, we have 3 or 4 games in hand on most teams and the playoffs isn't completely out of the question.

cannot understand why he was playing .Surely he should have been throwing a strop having had his head turned by a biggger club and a potentially big pay day to look forward to?Hopefully he is, as this is posted ,standing in front of the Notts County Chairman with his hair still wringing wet from the shower demanding to know when the bid will be accepted.Surely that scenario doesn't only happen to us does it?
