I wonder how BWP and Danny Green feel today....

As they drive to the training ground knowing they're surplus to requirements but have another eight days before they can be loaned out ....

They haven't been sold, so they are still part of the squad like everyone else. It's up to them to train as hard as they can either to force their way into the team or get a loan deal. I wish them both well in this.
  • Maybe Chris Powell could give Peter Odemwingie a call.

Loan window is still open for quite a while, so they will probably move then.

My heart doesn't really bleed for two well paid professional footballers.
  • No matter how bad they're feeling, there is always someone worse off.

    Step forward, Mr Odemwingie.

Disappointed I presume, and I can understand that. They passed medicals and sorted terms only for the FA to embargo.

At the end of the day, they probably just want to be playing regular football, and now it looks again like it might not happen.

Never good for a squad having a few really frustrated players floating around.

The big surprise for me is that if this had gone through just before the deadline, that would have meant four out this window and none in.

They would have been told they are backup to the first team I'd imagine, so a loan deal was on the cards.

They just have to be patient and professional.

    Most likely frustrated imho.

They must have realised the SCP didn't "trust" them, to use his favorite word, for some time.

They had a chance to prove themselves elsewhere and it was blocked.

    Always next week though.

Isn't there a chance that these can still go through if they successfully argue the case with the FA.

Swindon were blocked from making signings, but they were taken over yesterday and therefore attempted to sign BWP and Green thinking it would now be ok. But the Football League told them to do one

It was an opportunity for them to go and play football. Not exactly getting any at Charlton are they. Feel sorry for them in that respect. Similarly, feel sorry for the players who we may have signed (whoever they were) if the FA hadn't imposed the transfer embargo on Swindon.

What did Odemwingie do? Haven't read any news on it but it sounds like he felt like a casual Thursday night drive down to West London?

Agree, I think out incomings were dependant on getting BWP/Green off the wage bill.

Slightly frustrating because I'm not sure Swindon would want to take them next week.

The rules for temporary loans would not stretch to the play offs now,so would the Robins want them now or wait another three weeks?

  • Im glad BWP didnt go, I think we need him, with Fuller and Haynes very injury prone it doesnt leave us with much options up top. Its all well and good getting rid of BWP but we need to replace him with someone better which IMO is not easy considering we apparently dont have any money.

I imagine they are both feeling quite unsettled atm and a bit lost which is understandable.

I think they can both still offer something to the club because no one doubts they both have ability its just finding a way of getting the best out of them.

I think it would be a bad move to let BWP go, still think he's got plenty to offer us

I agree, however I cannott help but think we have someone better coming in on loan.
  • I am sure we had two players lined up to come in, once those two deals collapsed we couldn't bring the other two in as we would have been paying their wages as well as BWP and Greens, frustration all round.

They knew weeks ago that they would be loaned out. Also they both want first team football.

Powell must have loans lined up as we need a left mid/winger. Sounds like Ephraim is one

i respect them and the part they played in a team that won us a title and got us out of div three when things were bleak... they havent cut the mustard at this level or at our club, this happens and they will know better than anyone. i'll always appreciate them for what they done, specially bradley, good luck to them for the future i say.
