I thought yesterday and at Wolves away he played very well in the defensive midfielder role. Believe he gives us some stability and yesterday he one nearly every header, not so sure about him at center back, but with him putting in good performances as a defensive midfielder perhaps SCP could think of playing a 4-4-2 diamond?

Had a good game yesterday. Was there to win 2nd balls and be strong in the tackle. He is a good passer aswell. Shame he tried lobbing Speroni when he made the run, nosebleed affect I assume.

Think we have many players who get the 'nosebleed' effect, Pritchard springs to mind

That was a great run he made at the beginning of the second half.

Agree with this. Credit where credit's due.

  • He was a class act against Leeds, good goal that night too.

After yesterday's performance he should start in that role from now on

He did okay but I didn't understand why Stephens was dropped

Noooooooooo, not the Diamond again! The full back positions are left too exposed (see Forest & Derby away).

Can see that problem with the diamond, but I would say with Solly and Evina/Wiggins at full backs they could be our arguably best positions so co be worth the risk and with a defensive midfielder gives center backs protection.

If Dervite plays then one of Jackson (who gets goals), Stephens (who has been pretty good of late) or Pritchard (gives us so much energy and has made a couple of goals) doesn't. Or you end up playing someone out of position (Pritchard RM or Jackson LM). We might even go as far as playing two strikers on Saturday, so don't know how Dervite can fit in.

PS: Diamond at Derby? Thought Green played wide right?

  • Well if not Diamond perhaps 4-1-4-1?
  • Played well yesterday. thought first half we played as well as we have done for some time and that was a lot to do with him.

That's pretty much what we played yesterday.

4-5-1 is very adaptable. Can easily become 4-3-3 or 4-1-4-1.

    I hate him.
Purely because every time I see his name I get a real craving for Doritos.
