Claim against Police ...v Palace 2/2/2013
Firstly thanks to SE10 for pointing me in the right direction to take this matter further.
Since my trip to hospital yesterday (where the injuries to my wrists were recorded) I've been in touch with the football supporters federation who has forwarded my complaint onto a solicitor regarding Saturdays events detailed in "never trust a charlton fan" thread.
This was the solicitors response
"...Complaint yes but also possible claim. You can’t simply arrest two unconnected people because one of the them ‘must’ have caused criminal damage. Also injuries amount to an assault.
Would be very small though- approx. £1000 in total. (1 hour detention, and minor injuries)"
I will update this, hopefully this thread will help anyone who in the future finds themselves in a similar position

Choice word of friendly
when i was younger i had a set too with the OB which resulted in some quite substantial injuries including a boot mark across my back and one on the side of my head a black eye bust lip and a few cracked ribs
when it was challenged and a formal complaint made i was lifted virtually twice a week for months until it was deemed better by myself to just not pursue and to officially drop the case
it didnt matter at the time as i was a bit of a scally
they look after their own your face coyuld end up distributed at every football ground just for incovience sake
and you could end up with loads of section 27s

almost immediately i had one final weekend in plumstead nick on a charge of assault on OB and then nothing even though i had not even questioned the copper who had seen it nesc to slam me against his car and truncheon both legs that weekend on my way home let alone running away from him and then chinning him as he caught me , well thats what his note book said
my brother was witness to the state of me in the original incident and as they were spreading and handcuffing me in the van after the kicking i had took to give me some more, i saw him looking in the van reminstrating with a bird cozzer, i told him to have a good look at me as i needed him to bere witness if i looked worse
the bird cozzer heard this and told the other 3 OB to not do any more to my head i then had a sustained kicking in the body legs and feet for a ten min journey, a full 24 hrs in nick and sent home in a paper suit with a pass to get on a bus the sunday morning at 4am that would not take me the full journey home and it was november so freezing
all beacuse i took exception to a police officer smacking a girl i was out with in the mouth with his back of hand when she questioned why our black friend had been stopped and searched and not us,
like i say i was no saint i did get confrontational with the cozzer in the situation and i had not had a free life of trouble so was well known to them
but it all get very very silly very very quickly, i still have a mark against my history for violence towards police which i have never done0 -
Choice - I think you will find that the police will simply say that both of you were suspected of causing the damage but they were unable to find anyone else who witnessed the event and, therefore, decided not to charge you. The cuffs are invariably slammed on and locked too tight for the obvious point of inflicting pain and preventing any struggling. My scars have long since faded! Good luck if you decide to pursue it but be prepared to take plenty of days off hanging around at court being messed around in the process. They will fail to appear on the date with good excuses etc to mess you around and try and get you to drop it. The whole process can be stressful. Sometimes better to put it down to experience and move it.0

I hope you get a big payout and the copper(s) involved is severely reprimanded . Can't see the latter happening though.0

Phil, I agree with NLA. You won't win & even if you did, they'll make sure you regret it big time. You'll be a marked man. Just drop it, if you know what's good for you.0

Dont bother choice...at the age of 61 I was pushed over in my own home by 2 met thugs. They had the wrong address and no search warrant. Both thugs then lied and the met closed ranks...I hope they both suffer from something horrible in later life!0

Choice is doing the right thing. For god's sake if everyone just dropped it we'd be in an even worse state. Nothing changes if people don't take a stand0

The best advice I can give you here is to join the Freemasons and get some 'Trojan Horse' justice, you don't have much hope otherwise.
If that copper scum PC Harwood can get away with killing Ian Tomlinson on camera then I don't hold out much hope for you my old mate!0 -

Whats good for me ? My wrists are f***** mate and I spent a day at the hospital yesterday. The consequences don't bear thinking about if Jude (my 6 year old) had been with me. Those cuffs were so tight for an hour it cut off circulation to my hands, even today my wrists are numb, pins and needles and there are minor lacerations. Even when they took them off they "lost" the key for 5mins. I missed the last 15mins, if we'd come back and won i would of felt robbed for life.Covered End said:Just drop it, if you know what's good for you.
The evidence has been photo'd and the hospital have a record, solicitor reckons compensation likely without an apology. I get what your saying but I feel like I've gotta see it through for the above reasons.nth london addick said:Be lucky to get an apology tbh
I thought they were meant to be used as a restraining tool rather than a form of torture. Solicitor reckons they should of only been used if they felt i was gonna kick off or run away.Cardinal Sin said:The cuffs are invariably slammed on and locked too tight for the obvious point of inflicting pain and preventing any struggling
