    Chicken tikka slices.
  • Selling a player in the window and then loaning him back. Is that fair? Whoever sanctioned that rule? Not that I'm biased, but it happened to us two weeks on the trot.

Foul throws. At least half of throw ins are a foul throw and nothing ever gets done about it.

Goalkeepers kicking the ball out whilst still clearly in their hands and coming out of the 18 yard box. They all do it, but what makes me laugh is the linesman stands in line with the 18 yard box but does nothing.

Refs who clearly have given a corner when it should be a goal kick, and then give an imaginary foul to the team that should of got the decision in the first place when the corner comes over.

  • If the ref had been doing his job properly Celtic would have won. Simple as that.

The holding was ridiculous. It was excessive and obstruction. It was not that the main reason Celtic lost though.

Lennon played Ambrose at centre back just 3 days after returning from the African Nations. That was a really poor decision.

It was Ambrose who was asleep for the first Italian goal alongside his other centre back, missed a crucial header to equalise midway through the second half and made a terrible mistake for the third. Lennon should have picked another centre back and saved Ambrose for the second leg.

Juventers took their chances, and were better quality overall. Celtic did play well but lacked quality particularly in the final third.

It is not to say that that the holding at corners was not out of order. There should be some clarity on that from UEFA but I doubt that rubbish organisation will give it, particularly in the way that Lennon expressed it at the end of game.

I wonder what would have happened if the Celtic players had gone to the middle of the pitch in protest ? Got the book thrown at them probably.
  • Simple fact if it had been the british team that did it, there would not be such a big deal in the press.

It's only cheating if a foreigner does it. ;-)

It was Juve's gameplan to sit back and soak up pressure anyway. Yeah Celtic had a lot of possession, but that's because Juve let them and then restricted them to speculative long range efforts. The only time Celtic had a clear opening Ambrose headed straight at Buffon, whilst they got torn apart ruthlessly at the back.

The most silly rule to me is that when a player has been kicked up into the air and needs treatment he has to go off whilst the culprit, who may even have been carded, is allowed to stay on. Both should go off and return together.

So the ref was responsible for 4 Celtic goals ??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's more complicated than that. It's cheating when Chelsea or England do it, but not if the Mancs, Scottish clubs, Scottish or Irish national teams do it. The Scots and Irish are, as everyone knows, bitterly hard-done-by heroes who would have won if only it hadn't been for some dastardly unfairness. Even when they get hammered 5-0.
