  • Great value for money, really enjoyed my afternoon. You can't win them all but when you see such attractive, free flowing football being played it certainly takes the edge off.

The whole bloody week to prepare for what should be a very winnable game and we don't get going to the last 20 minutes. Anyone else getting that sinking feeling?
  • Oh dear. It looks like being a long, hard slog to the end of the season now.

Need someone who can inspire this team and get them going, Powell IMO isn't that man
  • Powell out!!

I wasn't there today (1st home game I've missed in 5 years) Just thought I'd say it before someone else did!

Strange starting line-up. I thought "I hope Powell knows what he's doing". He does - he's proved that whoever he puts on the pitch they all play the same. At home (I admit it's different away) it just looks to me like we have a squad full of average players, with a couple of exceptions.

I said it on the match thread. A ludicrous starting lineup. 3 up front with Dervite, Jacko and Pritchard in the middle. How were they going to get the service? Smacked of desperation to me. I must admit, I'm starting to lose faith in CP what with some of his tactical decisions. Feel a bit depressed about that as I want him to do well with Charlton.

Thought we missed Stephens today, nobody seemed to be linking between the back 4 and the strikers which led to the familiar long ball game. Green looked good when he came on and his urgency was pretty refreshing.

Clueless, poor team selection, rubbish performance. Just glad I will have people coming on telling me what a great manager Powell is etc etc. Many of whom in pre season predicted top half and now say 4th bottom is acceptable.

So looking forward to the trip to Posh on Tuesday:(

strange atmosphere, it's as if us fans even accept we are going to get beat, not even that angry anymore.

eh? Thought we were a lot better than last week, thought Green and Harriot coming on gave us the edge and if luck had been our way we might have nicked a point. First time I'd seen Button and he looked good, bit early to tell on Obika.
Austin's goal was fantastic, and ultimately we lost to a single wonder goal, apart from that I didn't think Burnley were going to get any more and in the last 10 minutes or so Button was pretty much the only player in our half.
We are certainly weak in retaining possession as the default seems to be to hoof it up to Kermy and wait for his flick on; unfortunately Fuller ain't as good in the air (don't think he won a single contested header).
And anyone who thinks that was the worst they've seen Charlton play must have missed a lot of home games this season.

No chance. Biggest laugh of the day when they gave that out. I reckon 15k tops. There were 6 empty season tickets by me.

The lower north was packed for some reason as was the east stand. Burnley didn't have anything like forest did last week . I would have guessed at 18 k .

I'm sorry to say that it was a really flat performance once again after a promising first 20mins. Although we didn't boss the possession we did look dangerous with the 433 we started with when we got the ball. For some reason reason Powell changed it to 442 half way through the first half, it didn't work. We didn't create a single good chance again, a number of half ish chances but this eight hour round trip journey to the valley and back is starting to get a bit painful now.....

    You didn't quite manage that.

In the week that I decided I could afford the £540 for my daughter and I to renew I am now left wondering whether I really want to put us through it.

I'm really pissed off with Pritchard . Sure , he works his socks off and he is a real team player but why oh why does he go to pieces when he has a chance on goal ? It's as if his legs go to jelly in the final third of the pitch.

That's what I thought Steve, people seem to be getting immune to it.If what we have been served up at home under the stewardship of Powell had been with any other Manager, there would be areas of our Support calling for his head.Four wins in 18 home games is truly chronic.

The only positive today was Green.
Fuller and Morrison especially poor. I said about five games ago we would be relegated. I still stand by that. Can't believe there are three teams worse than us.

Absolute chuff for 70mins. Huffed and puffed for the last 20 but could still be out there now and we wouldn't have scored.

Dervite looked like a turkey waiting for Xmas. Didn't want the ball and whenever it came near him he offloaded it (largely to no one or Burnley players) as quick as possible.

Was clear within 15mins the formation wasn't working and we should have gone 4-4-2 at half time.

    Fuller vanished second half.

Is Obika anywhere near as good as BWP?

Pitch looks like it is getting worse.

Ultimately it is the fans fault though.

I feel sorry for Paddy Powell, he has been right stitched up, he thought he bought shit loads of grass seed, and some bastard sold him bird seed, never seen so many birds on the valley pitch.

That game and the result now makes the match against Peterboro a relegation 6 pointer.
