I hope the powers that be see the support that Powell has. it was a small sample but pretty emphatic. I suspect of the 92 clubs in the country only one Scot would actually poll better ( and in fact that wouldn't have been true 12 months ago!)0

That's interesting SR because we've now had 240 respondents, despite what's been said above. I don't know if there'd be a way of accessing the the data without paying as it's a different account, but if I have any ideas for further surveys, as a trust member I'll speak with you first. It is likely to grow to 4-700 if you leave it going especially if AFKA Bartram grants you a sticky but he can play hardball! Best discuss with Razell how the trust might help.... or, as you say think about it for next time.Stig said:

Interesting stat there (which probably doesn't change much for the whole 240) is that over 50% are most/all home + occasional away... perhaps the club should put out an away match DVD - send it free to all season ticket holders to get them to renew!

Really couldn't think of a man I'd rather have running MY club. Remember back a few years ago when the talk among some "supporters" was that Curbs had taken us as far as he could and we need to replace him if we wanted to progress. Yeah, we all know how that ended up. Be very careful what you wish for.
As for those who suggested Di Canio, if that happened, I'd eat my season ticket and post the resulting turd to Jiminez first class.............................0 -
All managers know more than me so I didn't bother to do the survey...just to say that I used to go see the boys in the sixties when the excitement was "Will we stave off relegation again" Only an idiot says "My club has to be successful" because that my friends is an impossibility.0

This manager has done a great job considering his experience in management and resources.
This season is about staying in the division and building a foundation.
Please let's ease off with the lack of patience stuff we've been in far worse places.

I have been away for the weekend and only just catching up with the Burnley material and all the OTT posts about Chris Powell.
Simple answer from me - 100% Charlton, 100% SCP, even if we were (god forbid) to drop back into L1, which I am confident we will not. Chris Powell deserves all of our unstinting support and respect.0 -

This season was always going to be trial and error, consolidation.
With the lack of quality signings, it was never really going to be any different.

I think its important to distinguish between Forum batter (not banter) which is the Football Manager in all of us, and the real world.
We've all watched an awful lot of football I imagine, but also aren't privvy to the goings on behind the scenes, so our comments are possibly uninformed, but I think drawn from frustration mainly and love for our club.
As I once said to CP at a fan meet, a lot of us are in Powell Heaven, a club legend now running the club with success, but he will always be a legend to most of us, so no pressure.... We now see him, still learning, but struggling with a squad that only last year was playing in League 1 and looks badly in need of 2 or 3 new legs from that transfer window which didn't happen.
It's possible to get in a rut as a manager, Curbs was often guilty of it and look at his record, you just don't get that sort of time though in the modern era.
Anyway he still has my 100% support and probably always will, if he's given the right kind of backing and still fails I might change my view on whether he is right for CAFC, he will remain either way a top bloke in my view, and a Club hero/legend.0 -
I don't want CP to go he is still the best man for the job IMO but can there be some rationality here. He isn't god and at the moment he's a bit at sea so some rational criticism is OK after all this is forum for opinions and to get all antsy because that opinion isn't "CP is divine and anyone who says otherwise is a traitor and stupid" is a bit grating to be honest.0

Yes but you said "rational" criticism.
After the Forest game, Stephens was panned. CP dropped him. Cue people slagging him off because the midfield was pants against Burnley. Missing Stephens as the one player who can put his foot on the ball and seek out a killer pass. Apparently.
After the Forest game, people complained that we are set up too defensively. CP started Burnley with three recognized strikers. He gets slagged for "panicking".
There is a thread dedicated to demanding that Ben Hamer be dropped. CP dropped him. We lose, to a wonder goal.
Then there is the perennial pretender that is Danny Green...
And on and on and on. Everything his detractors said he should do, he has done.
Possibly, just possibly, given our position and the resources of the teams below us, it must dawn on his detractors that this squad just is not very good at this level.
Rational. Yeah, right.

Please do not associate the we live and breathe curbs group with support for CP. I AM AND WILL STAY 100 percent with CP. But when Curbs left, I was glad to see the back of him. The two are different situations and lets treat them as such.0

Thanks very much to Mr Razil and the Supporters Trust, we now have access to all 299 responses to the questionnaire.
The updated figure shows a slight movement towards "no support" now at 2%, but overall the picture is very similar with high levels of support for Chris Powell as manager:

There were a broad selection of attendance patterns, I did try cross-referencing this with other questions. I couldn't find any interesting correlations though. Although I was surprised that each of the 6 people stating that they have no support for CP all had different attendance patterns.
*NB - The keen eyed amongst you may have noticed that the shot of responses to Q2 adds up to 303 not 299. This is because I went back and got a screen grab after doing the other ones. I have not included the four later responses here as there's got to be a cut off somewhere - sorry.0 -
