If CP goes after the next two games regardless of results I will be shocked.0
-
if we'd lost 5-0 to peterboro I wd av been worried, if he makes us safe he's safe for now0
-
Don't think so. It'd be a couple of weeks to the "cheap" season ticket deadline. So, unless the club: can afford to pay SCP off; have another manager already lined up; and can take the hit on poor ST sales because of customer dissatisfaction, it's not really tenable.0

they might think replacing CP might boost season ticket sales ;-)cafcfan said:and can take the hit on poor ST sales because of customer dissatisfaction, it's not really tenable.

Do I want him to go ? no.
Would he be in danger ? Possibly
Do I think it will happen ? No idea.0 -
I have a feeling CPs job is a lot safer than everyone on this site seems to think it is.
He is actually having more success than several, so called, experienced managers are currently having in this division.0 -
If TJ sacks SCP, he'll have me to deal with !!!
( Threat not a promise !)0 -

CP is safe this season.
Im not sure if he is safe in the close season regardless of if we stay up.0 -
I wish people would stop suggesting that he might go. Give me one good reason why they would get rid of him ?0

imagine what Charlton life wouldve been like when we finished 15th in 1996/97 season after we had been in the playoffs season before?0
-
you're not wrong. football fans in general and CAFC fans in particular have changed a lot since thenI-SAW-POUSO-PLAY said:imagine what Charlton life wouldve been like when we finished 15th in 1996/97 season after we had been in the playoffs season before?
Curbs would have been forced out IMO and more than likely we'd never have won promotion the following season

The thread is misleading as it implies substance in the title
You are entitled to ask as nuch as others are entitled to say it pointless
The thread is unhelpful it is unwanted imo
Sacking any mgr with this amount of games to go and with the postition we find ourselves is unwise
To sack SCP is down right Ridiculous he has done a fine Job so far0 -
Could not agree more NLA.
SCP has done a grat job in the circumstances and he really seems to care and want the best for the club.
It would be madness to even consider sacking him. If they did I honestly wouuld despair and NOT renew the three season tickets that I buy each year for me, a nephew and Grandson0 -
I'd hope so to be honest0
-
SCP is obviously struggling with a financial regime that defines the word tight. Players have to go out before he can bring anybody in and whoever comes in has to be cheaper. In the circumstances he would be doing really well to keep us up. I have no doubt he would have wanted to freshen the squad up for an incredibly difficult league. Interesting to compare with Ipswich who are splashing the cash on players we were apparently interested in - Wordsworth,Tabb etc and yet under McCarthy appear to be going nowhere fast and possibly down. so let's all hunker down and get results at Huddersfield and against Millwall and hope for some well deserved investment.0

If it's people who think Powell's position is precarious you're after,go on that sorry excuse of a forum Into The Valley and fill your boots.
It's worth it to marvel at the power-mad buffoon that is Reams...0 -
Back , not sack.0
-
Even if we were to go down I think he would/should stay.
A question. As we have very little money could someone tell me who could do a better job?0 -
Greenie jr
Do you mean you hope he gets sacked if we lose these two fixtures or have i read that wrong
0 -
Not for me, stick to the 3 year plan , if that's the plan.0

"Need someone who can inspire this team and get them going, Powell IMO isn't that man"

I wonder if Greenie Junior is the person who, when answering Stigs excellent survey, chose as CPs replacement the combo of big Ron and Paulo di Canio. At the time I thought it was somebody having a laugh....0

It would be stupid to get rid of Powell, let's look at the team we've got mainly league one players yet we are doing considerably well with a team of this ability with extremely limited funds so my answer is NO0
