Kenny passed last week aged 82.
An always smooth & immaculate TV and radio regular during the 1960s with his Jazzmen, a VERY underrated, understated musician, the Louis Armstrong of Dagenham.

Saw him live at the Fairfield Hall a few years back, he had recovered from cancer evidently. The jazzmen had an additional trumpet player just to cover the high notes if he struggled but sounded ok to me on the night, good entertainment.
He came over as a really genuine guy and musician.

More sad news. Well remember the heyday of the 'Trad Jazz' bands in the late 50s/early 60s: Kenny, Acker, Chris Barber, Terry Lightfoot and many more. RIP.0

Went to my school (long before me) he and Paul Ince were the most famous people produced there.
