Millwall's policy for selling away match tickets

http://www.millwallfc.co.uk/tickets/Away-Ticket-Policy.aspx
For a club that feel so hard done by with the reputation of their fans, they are quite strict on how they distribute their tickets.

Makes me laugh. One ticket per ST.

Which means, going on their attendance figures, a third of their home attendance will attend on Saturday!

It's their cup final, bless em

hope they managed selling their allocation before today, for their sake, they will not have gained any fans today.

"It was necessary to introduce the away ticket scheme to avoid Clubs placing a total ban on our supporters owing to misbehaviour."
  • How many ST holders have they got?

The away end on sat will feature the "most chavs in one place" world record attempt. West Ham hold the current record...

It should be one per season ticket holder for us too for our away games!! Why a season ticket holder should be able to get 2/3/4 tickets which can then end up in the hands of anyone, before members with history are allowed one for themselves is beyond me.

They will take 400 to the replay at Blackburn, get through, and suddenly find 25000 to go to Wembley for a good ol' fashioned cockney knees-up.

Hardly a surprise though. A midweek away game in arctic conditions up north at 3 days notice is quite obviously going to attract less fans than an FA Cup semi final in April at Wembley.

    We'd be exactly the same.

& so what if we do?

    Millwall the club, acting responsibly.

Anyone picked up by stewards for causing bother immediately identified - and sanctions imposed.

So that'll be 3,300 less ST holders at their next home game.

    ;o)

Lets be honest - we would take the same at best.

hmm, let's see. When was the last time we had an FA cup quarter final reply up north? 2006 v Middlesbrough, to which we took 3500. I'll give you it wasn't as cold (game was played in early April, but other than that the circumstances are very similar, except we had to travel 100 miles further.

I know bashing our away support is fashionable at the moment, but FFS, it's not as if I had to go delving into the mists of time to find a comprable situation.

We had 5k that night I thought? Was free coach travel, but still it's not really the cost of getting up north on a Wednesday night, it's the potential days off work etc.

Sure our replay was the week after original game - not a few days. And we had various means of free/subsidised travel.
I'm pretty sure on the scums last cup run that they took a few k to Tranmere in a midweek replay.

Not depending them but we honestly would not manage much better imo.

if we were in a similar position to Millwall then I'd expect us to take about 1k/1,500, always seem to get pretty good support away in the cup in my memory

We took over 5K to that game. And would of taken more if they gave it to us!

We took 2k to Tranmere, think that's all we were given.

I checked trains yesterday to Blackburn....£319 for a time as close to the end of work....with no chance of getting back until some time the day after.

Not easy organising coaches/minibuses from Monday for Wednesday either.

I've got a Millwall mate who is going up with another 4 blokes. They are trying to arrange a wait and return cab from Bromley.

We sold the extra palace tickets. 400 would be a good turn out for 3 days notice.
  • We had 470 at Huddersfield at an entire seasons notice, if they can get 400 to Blackburn at 3 days notice, that's good going.
