Johnnie Jackson Appreciation Thread

It has just come to my attention that our leader has played 100 games for Charlton and has scored 33 goals.

With a record with 1 in 3 from midfield (and some of those from left back in the early days I think), when was the last time we had a non-striker score that many goals that regularly? I'm struggling to think if we have had one in the last 20 odd years.

Going by Wikipedia, he had only scored 19 goals in his entire career before joining us at the age of 28.

Not bad for someone who initially joined as a bit of loan cover for Grant Basey at left-back to then go on and be our top goalscorer and captain us to a league championship!

So I know he gets a lot of stick for not being the quickest, but he deserves a great deal of respect to work his way up through the divisions at such a late age and transform himself into a completely different player. Seriously doesn't get enough credit for his recent achievements IMO.

i agree he doesn’t get the credit he deserves. if you just type into google images he's name, either the transformation since joining us was even more dramatic than we thought or some black dude with big arms is more famous than our captain. unbelievable!

Always refreshing when the shirt actually means something to a player.

    Good player,
    very good captain,
    great attitude.
  • The way he celebrates some goals just makes me love him even more! Plus his tweets are brilliant!
  • Absolutely love the guy, great video. On a side note so does my female boss, despite not knowing his name there is still a calender up from June 2012 (Ibelieve) I've not her he's not a piece of meat.
  • Great bloke, player and captain, I hope he scores against Millwall, impossible to beat at words with Friends! Yes I have played him.

Is that a fact? He's scored eight this season all from open play.

I love the man. Up there with Bobby Curtis, Matt Tees, Harry Gregory, all the Valley greats from the last 50 years. Score the winner on Saturday and you're in the Hall of Fame.

He had that as his Twitter photo for a while. Seems to be into some quality TV with that, Curb, The Wire and Sopranos. Definitely someone I'd enjoy a drink with.

Love him and he looks quite similar to my brother. When I first started taking my daughter, we used to call JJ 'Uncle Sam'.
