The last riots. I got a free TV and a crate of whisky. I don't know if they were given willingly, but nobody stopped me - I suppose we were kicking up a bit of a fuss.

I work for the NHS. I cut my finger once and had a problem getting a plaster. Seriously.

Haha, this! We are even expected to go back to work until 5 after our non alcoholic Xmas lunch! Oh for the holy grail of the private sector!

Not had many good ones. The most memorable was a hostel owner in Colombia offering free samples of the local produce. Needless to say, I was w*nkered.

Oh yes. Then again wait until we cash in on our 'gold plated' pensions when these globe trotting, bribe accepting, private sector suckers are scrapping to get enough for a loaf of bread and we're driving around in Bugatti's eh?

    ;-)

An upgrade from Economy to First Class with BA on our 10th wedding anniversary from Heathrow to Cairo. However, the return flight was full and we stuck in economy again.
  • One of the Partners at my work bought his P.A. a Porsche Carrera a couple of years back as a "bonus" (I'm sure she was doing more than just taking notes and performing administrative duties!!).

I however won the meat raffle at The Millers Arms in Bexleyheath last Sunday. A nice steak and two lamb shanks! Happy Days!!

Went into a well known electrical trade counter when I was doing a gaff up a few years back, asked for some bits and then asked for a morion sensor for the lights in the garage (cost 80 quid I think), gave the geezer behind the jump me bank card to pay, went to put me pin in when he said "WAIT!" at the top of his voice, "HAVE YOU CHECKED THE AMOUNT?" "Oh yeah" I said and looked, well it was only about 25 quid, so I stuck me pin in and come out with a free motion sensor! Div!

I once got a free Partridge Family DVD. It even had the classic episode where David Cassidy gets his comb stuck in his hair. F*cking result!

At Blackpool in 1972 was given a complimentary ticket for the game by manager Theo Foley. We lost 5 - 0 and got relegated!

73-74 season away at Hereford. Theo handed out comps as we got off the Valley Away coach. Half time the coach driver asked where I was sitting and invited me to join him in the upper tier. Watched the agg dished out by the local constabulary downstairs to our noisy element. Explained away afterwards as due to trouble the previous week with Bournemouth! Police escort to the Severn Bridge. Think we were the first team to inflict a 'double' in the league.

A girl called Mel I once knew :-)
  • My wife and I won an all expenses paid weekend at the British F1 GP a few years ago.

Five star hotel for two nights, as much food and drink as we could consume and we had a guided tour of the pit lane and got to meet the drivers and have a sit in one of the F1 cars. We also bumped into David Beckham and Girls Aloud.

As good as all this was we were significantly more interested in the glasses of Champagne with strawberries in them - how quaint.

The free drink also extended to as many bottles of the stuff we could carry out of the place on both days. Needless to say we didn't bother but we saw couples with four bottles each!

Apparently the tickets for this sort of pampering cost £10k a head.

I often get free games of golf due and trips to the races due to corporate hospitality , which means I have managed to play some decent golf courses like Wentworth, Walton Heath, Royal St Georges etc and racing at Ascot & Epsom.

However, probably my best freebie was in 2008 where my (then) employer paid for the top advisors to a 5 night stay (with partners) to the all-inclusive Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas (flights & all meals, trips & entertainment paid for of course)

I take it that you ain't a road sweeper then

The O2 Moments App on the iPhone gives some good freebies that you can take advantage of. Last summer they had a good one for Millies Cookies which got you 4 free cookies of your choice. You have 3 hours to use your voucher once activated. So the idea is to find as many different Millie's Cookies as possible to claim as many cookies as possible! The Glades in Bromley was perfect for this, one at the top one at the bottom. And with the person behind the counter changing shifts, me and the ex made 2 trips to each bagging a grand total of 32 free cookies between us. Lovely stuff

Sounds like a lot of effort for a biscuit.

Remember when Paddy Power opened a shop up opposite Belmarsh a few years ago and gave you a free £10 bet on the Charlton game that day (Can't remember who against) as long as you had a season ticket, problem was they weren't keeping track of what season ticket had already been used, so about 20 of us met up in The Alice and went in placing bets on loads of different out comes using just 2 season season tickets, military precision it was......... Nobody won f-all!!

Had free first class BA flights all over the world for 15 years as ex-witch had a sensible job with them.

I gave her the house when we split so perhaps not a total freebie !!!
  • Got a comp off Paul Pace for the Newcastle 3-4 game back in 1992, certainly one of the best games I've ever watched for free!
