After spending the afternoon sifting through my mum's loft I've finally found my Ronnie Moore certificate. It was in a photo album with loads of old tickets and autographs, including Viggo Jacobsen and Oostergard's.

Great photo - any idea when it was taken?0

Great picture that. My new wallpaper0

Judging by the cars, I'd say mid 60's0
-
My guess is that it's late 50's. Must be before 1962 due to no floodlights.0

The floodlights are there but difficult to see.0

LOL Must put on those glasses I got from Specsavers?DaveMehmet said:The floodlights are there but difficult to see.

When was the social club built behind the covered end, that might help to date it?
Probably 60's I think0 -
More than happy if anyone has the facilities and wants to make copies. I can't for the life of me remember where i got it from but don't think it's that old. The quality of the actual photo is pretty good.0

Whats that road between the ground and what Id assume is the Woolwich rd? and where would it be now?0
-
Probably early 70s ........ The Valley Club is there and the demolitions had started along the Woolwich Road.
The Jimmy South Stand wasn't built until 1979.0 -

That's a great photo. I'd love more of these images on CL.DaveMehmet said:I'll try again with the photo

It looks to me l like the pic was taken after the ground behind the JS terrace was passed on to the Council for the flats to be built. Don't remember there being a fence at the back before then?0

no flood lights

You need to go to Specsavers, GH !Goonerhater said:no flood lights
Floodlights can be seen.
I believe The Valley Club was opened around 1969, by the Olympic runner Lillian Board - who tragically died of cancer aged just 22.
I can remember inside The Valley Club on the wall was a framed cartoon type illustration of Lillian, commemorating the event.
I wonder what happened to it?

Nothing else other than progs I’m afraid.Henry Irving said:Lovely. Anything, else in the box?
You know what I'm going to say @DaveMehmet
The answer’s still no though, I won’t go out to dinner with you.
You can have these for the museum though.1 -
